    Fatal DirectX error 11000002

    Hello,

I saw that this problem was moved to resolved because the "solution" was to set FFXIV to DX9.

    This is not a solution.

I myself have also been experiencing this and I'm not quite sure of what else I can try to resolve this. This only happens when I play FFXIV, I don't experience this problem with any other game.

    My Graphical Info:
    Display Driver: NVIDIA GTX1070
    Driver Hardware Version: 381.89
    NVIDIA GeForce Experience Version: 3.5.0.76

Not sure if this helps but here's my DxDiag

    What I've Tried:
    Updating GFX Drivers.
    Clean Installing GFX Drivers.
Setting PCI Express Link Power Manager in Power Options to OFF.
Removing the overclock on my GFX Card.
Changed GFX cards, (had this problem as well on my GTX980)
Changed AA and AF to application controlled in NVIDIA control panel.
    Clean installed FFXIV and updates.
Clean installed Windows 10 into a new Partition.

I would really like if the problem could possibly be fixed soon, as Stormblood is looming and I'm sure lots of us with this problem would like to enjoy the game trouble-free.

    Hello,
I was having this same issue, however in order to resolve this issue on my system I had to completely remove my video driver and do a clean install of the driver. This seemed to fix my directx error issue. I hope this helps.

I've already tried this solution, and sadly it hasn't worked.

After the Windows 10 Creators update, FF XIV dx11 version has been unplayable for me. This is with AMD Radeon R9 285 graphics card. I didn't have a single crash with dx11 before the windows 10 update and now, like said, it's unplayable.

using a R9 380x. i've done basically all of these except changing the card (i don't have another) and clean installing windows (don't have a spare hdd/ssd and i'm not backing up everything to reinstall and setup unless it's a guaranteed fix). on top of it, I even used DDU to make sure I was getting as close to a clean install of my drivers as I possibly could. nothing's fixed it. i got my issues post-server move patch yesterday, but I hear it's been going on for other's earlier, so i'm not sure wtf is triggering it, although i do admit i was getting the creator update notifications saying that it was ready to be installed so obviously some of it was pre-loaded. the worst part is it crashes even in dx9 (i get error 1000003d with dx9), just less frequent and it isn't as liable to take my entire pc with it.

edit to say that it crashes even in the stormblood benchmark, so I really am thinking it's something to do with creator's update somehow.

Don't quote me on the this, but for the short trial period I have found a solution (that at least is working for me). All I did was disable all the game stuff Windows 10 forced on us on the Creators update. You find them all at Windows Settings -> Gaming. Main thing to disable is the "Game Mode".

Like said, I'm not saying this is the solution that works, but it's working for me right now and I haven't got a single crash today. (amd r9 380)

Having the same error ever since Creator's Update. It got so bad that it freezes up my laptop and refuses to let it boot up at points.

    MSIGT73VR Titan Pro
    Nvidia GTX 1080
    GeForce GameReady Driver v. 382.05
    64 Gig RAM
    1TB + 1TB SSD

I've done a clean FFXIV install, removed and clean reinstalled drivers and more. The game runs on DX11 for a bit before flickering and locking up the entire laptop and giving me the Fatal DirectX error. Problem doesn't seem to occur with DirectX9. For such a high end laptop to only have problems with one game while not having any with others (Overwatch, any Steam games all run just fine) makes me hope that this will be addressed before Stormblood.

I got a single dx11 failure today, so turning off the Game Mode wasn't a solution. For some reason the crashes are completely random since I have got them standing around, in dungeon and in open world.

And I do not get any crashes on any other PC game from this issue.

I actually had similar results like this earlier testing different stuff. Messed around with my AMD profile stuff and was able to go like 3 hours straight without any crashing, and then after that it was back to more frequent crashes. Whatever's triggering it is definitely fickle :/
