I think pre-orders getting a code instantly is a random glitch. I too wouldn't have the funds until after the offer ended so I pre-ordered Stormblood just make sure I got the items eventually. A FC mate did the same, I got a key instantly and he hasn't yet.

I just got back from a con week. Cons are brutal on your wallets.

Most people get paid bi-weekly (especially college kids considering they're most likely working grunt jobs). So that alone should net you a paycheck in time. Not to mention as the others have said, there's pre-orders. I echo the adult sentiment. You're going to have to learn to save and reorganize your priorities better. That's life. They're going to the mog station eventually anyways so it's a moot point anyways.
