Are ya sure that infrastructure update wasn't referring to the servers that 2.0 will utilize? I don't recall 1.0 getting such a thing (could be wrong though).

It depends on how the overall wording was to be interpreted, it seems by then they plan to try to alleviate some of the lag which is when it's stated to have the new servers complete, but 2.0 is when we move over to a new client and data fully converted, so it seems that it'll be a gradual process of moving over.

I don't think they were planning to implement 1.x on the new servers. In general you would do a migration with new client software which means 2.0. It's anybody's guess though.

The OP is talking about client lag, not server lag like your reference. OP it is your own PC and no they aren't doing anything about it until 2.0 when there is a new engine. Either reduce display settings or cough up money for new hardware.

No Syn, my UI lags too (especially shopping) which is not the fault of my hardware (constant 30fps everywhere), it's the fault of FFXIV and the retarded concept of sending request to display a window -> get response -> display window 1-2 seconds later.

Nevermind I miss understood what Thanos was saying. He was asking for the UI to be client side, I thought he was talking about things that already are like cursor movement and such. Everyone's UI interaction lags but there is no hope till 2.0.

If we are lucky it could get done before 2.0, but i'm not holding my breath, not because SE doesnt listen or anything but because they have a huge workload to get 2.0 out on time.
