People severely overestimate the DPS power of WHM.
Single target, WHM is about as strong as AST. But they don't have the MP with sustain that DPS in an actual battle so it's kinda pointless.
Not to mention WHM is more dependent on ACC then AST, because non-aspected DoTs cannot miss compared to Aero skills. Then you have better MP regen on AST since the LA buff and pairing it up CO, it's just too good.
Honestly, they got the QoL stuff correct. We've been asking for CO to do more, we asked for redraw to line-up better and we got that too. But they should have also buffed spear and other cards. Balance didn't need to really get better in the first place. To me it was more of a "throw the dog a bone and they will play it" kind of ordeal.
In a way they were also successful because for Alex Creator Savage all three healers have similar clear rates compared to Midas and Gordias, AST was world first, and White Mage is still in a good place. However one cannot deny the AST kit brings a bit more to the table this tier and in no way is WHM considered "safer" either. I think static pressure is also up too, DPS grumbling when WHM doesn't go AST can be felt in some groups.
Haven't you made a thread like this already?
By my count, four, more or less. Admittedly I haven't paid as much attention.
I'm not even visiting the healer forums often much but even I can notice that this person has repeated threads about this.
You wanna make a point and have debates, it's fine by me (and others too I'm sure). But making repeated threads worded differently and trying to sound like you're coming from a different POV each time when we all know what your bottom line is.. is just.. pfft.
Nothing like having quality moments with zombies.

No wonder I felt (and stated on the last page) that this felt like the same thread rehashed. The OP has created 4 threads on the subject in the last few weeks.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ng-into-4.0%29
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...MP-restoration
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ty-as-a-healer
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ary-in-content
And this is not even counting the 5th thread where the focus is on asking for AST nerfs.

Those topics are really not related to each other at all. They're all different topics I wanted to discuss around the healers. Saying it's just the same topic again and again is a stretch.
I also want to bring the issue of WHM and AST to, hopefully, someone at SE' attention. Because hardly anyone else talks about it until a topic shows up, and the general consensus is that WHM is "fine" (which is actually just viable, not fine). The last thing I want is to go into 4.0 still just a pure healer and fall flat on my face with content because everyone made it seem that WHM didn't need any changes and SE left it as is.
Now I admit that Im not raiding currently but at the same time alot of people dont even raid , so I can say that me personally I feel better about whm , than scholars in dungeons I feel like if Im taking high damage Ive seen more people fail as a scholar than a whm, I think people always mention whats good in a raid when over half the community doesnt even raid at all
Tbh just so long as you properly manage your Aetherflow stacks Scholar is equally equipped for clutch-saves as WHM is, even a little bit more so, since they have the most amount of instant heals per minute, plus a free heal every 3 seconds that is stronger than Regen and free of cast and MP cost (fairy). The problem with most average-DF Scholars is that they don't know how to properly use their fairies or don't know how to manage their Aetherflow stacks to keep track of possible mistakes. Though the later can also be contributed to an excess of trust in your DF party :P. Always a terrible thing to have, LOL.
In any case, this doesn't really provide much for the OP's topic, save for stating that Scholar's emergency healing is actually better than WHM's in terms of efficiency. I have posted repeatedly in Tonberry's threads about WHM and they probably know I completely agree with the sentiment that WHM is underequipped in comparison to their peers right now. Hope the cross class revamp fixes some of that!
Not a stretch at all. You've made 4 threads complaining about WHM in the past month. Those topics are really not related to each other at all. They're all different topics I wanted to discuss around the healers. Saying it's just the same topic again and again is a stretch.
