WHM getting progressively more unnecessary in content?

This topic again. Seems like every week it's the same thing rehashed in a new thread.

I remember when WHM holy was being nerfed because it did more damage than flare. Bwahahahah Flare was 270 potency at the time I think and holy was 250? (Flare could only be casted twice due to mana cost) This was even before they introduced the more than one monster = lesser damage mechanic.

The complaints were real.
