    Crafting Dilemma

Am I the only crafter out there that is bored as hell.Took me less than a week to get fully Melded ironworks n know for the last few weeks I don't know what to do next.SE with there ridiculous idea of helping young crafters has destroyed the fun for veteran crafters that actually enjoyed it.

And how did they destroy it? Curious. I know a lot of crafters who stopped crafting but have started again because the gear is easier to get now. Scrips aren't a favorite of many.

Probably cus he can't charge you an arm and a leg for every craft cus everyone is able to get the gear and meld it with little issue. Not saying that is your reason for hating it but its what I have heard some people argue about in chat.

Getting ironworks is much easier compared to getting artisan back in the day. Most people just get the scrip stuff because its the easier way out. They totally ruined crafting and gathering for the people that really work hard at it.

Crafting has been fairly meh for me since 2.0, though that's more to do with the extreme vertical progression SE has opted for with this game than anything else... I think the game has a fairly strong and enjoyable crafting system, but it's wasted on glamours and furniture... The only things worth HQing are the current progression sets, and I can't justify bothering with those when alternatives are so readily available and itemization so limited... Crafting itself is fine IMO, it's itemization and a complete lack of horizontal progression that's always stopped me from enjoying crafting...

Oh, and I'm still annoyed how they handled Specialists... The new actions themselves are needlessly cumbersome, and Specialist Recipes were a mistake IMO; I'd have left things as they were, with the Craft/Control requirement acting as Specialist Recipes, with the Specialist stat bonus essentially locking them out to non-Specialists until they gear up...

Guess I'm also kind of disappointed they didn't give the Moogle daily quest Quest Sync like they did with the Vanu Vanu... I enjoy getting some crafting based content, but those recipes are so mindlessly simple for a Lv60... Would love to see more crafting based progression content, I'm sure they could work something with Levequests if they either listen to me and add "endgame" Levequests... I actually like Red Scrips for that, at least... Gives me something Crafting/Gathering related to do each week, even if it is really dull and easy...

Yeah, they made it much easier so people would actually do it. People refused to do lvl 170 crafts cuz they were butthurt that getting the materials was harder than just walking up to a lady with some esoterics... Such is life with Western gamers I guess.

Now a bunch of ppl are just buying full sets off the market board after farming gil for a week or two. Instead of actually having something to work towards over the next 3 patches.

    Couple of thoughts:

    1. Moogle Beast tribe quests seem far too easy to me.
    2. Between moogle beast tribe quests and desynthing for glass fibers, Ironworks gear is ridiculously easy to get.
    3. Probably the worst aspect of crafting at the moment: After you get your level 60 job and Ironworks gear, the only thing there really is to craft at endgame is...Ironworks gear.

Agreed that it wasn't too hard to get the mats for and craft the ironworks gear.

And now that basically anyone can either DIY or buy it easily is a little dissapointing, but it didn't ruin crafting for me.
    I still enjoy it.

For me, when I reached 60, I didn't craft most of the items from 56-60 because there was no need to.

So I spent a lot of time gathering mats and crafting all of the recipes (except master recipes) for every class. I am still missing a couple from Alchemist and Culinarian, but plan to complete them soon.
Making and selling the HQ gear got me a ton of gil, and now I have nothing to spend it on. Just going to save it.

Then I'm going to make all of the housing items just for completion / achievement purposes. Gathering and crafting are still fun for me and I don't think it's broken.

I consider myself a veteran crafter, started back in 2.0. This is the best patch for crafting since 2.0-2.2
The fact scripts have basically become utterly useless and not needed anymore is good enough, sadly, they will be back probably.
