Questions about moving to a new free company house

Hi guys my free company wants to upgrade to a new house and we know there's no proper system or feature that lets us just move stuff easily with no hassle SO i have a few questions.

    1. I know that if a free company member kicked and owns a room it gets demolished and their stuff gets sent back to the resident caretaker (mostly i think) But what about the actual house?

    2. If a house is demolished what happens to the stuff in it? Or do we have to store/remove things before we demolish it?

    3. Is there a way to change a FC house to a personal house WITHOUT having to buy the plot again?

And if anyone has tips about moving to a new FC house PLEASE share k? Also sorry if theres a FAQ for this already, if so please link that here so a mod can lock this if thats better.

I've not demolished a house before so I'm not sure about 1 & 2. I know if it's auto-demolished the stuff goes to the salvager, but have no idea what happens if it's self destructed. As for 3, there's no way to change it. If it's changing hands (even from an FC to a specific person in the fc) it has to be destroyed and bought by that person.

There is no way to change house into personal. You have to take everything out before demolishing including stuff that is lost upon removal.

You have to remove everything. This includes unique items that get destroyed on pick-up. This includes the chocobo stable (which can't be removed unless every chocobo is removed). Every personal chamber must be demolished, which means that every item from every personal chamber must be removed. You can kick people out of the FC to solve the chocobo and chambers issues. You also lose all progress on airships/workshop. And you will need to buy the new plot and house for the full amount. You get no gil back from relinquishing the current plot.

Now, there is a Move feature coming out in a future patch, though we don't know what patch it will be or which (if any) of these problems it will solve. Depending on how eager your FC is to move (and how many plots you would be interested in are still available), you might want to hold out for the Move feature.

Beckett, I like how you tell it like it is. Reading that sounds so brutal, but that's exactly what it is. Need to think very hard about how far you go with a house. If there is even a glint of hope for moving you have to hold back on a lot of things. Like you said, hopefully they do something good with the move feature. Losing progress on certain projects is horrible. I agree with losing certain things like floors, walls, etc. IRL you wouldn't move those anyway...not that this is...real.

Thanks for the info, Beckett. Would you be able to point me to your source regarding the Move feature?

I believe the latest they said on the "moving" feature was in "Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXVIII":

So with 3.4 unlikely to arrive until at least early November and we don't know how much "after" that for the moving feature so you're probably looking at a minimum of 5 months for it. We also don't have any details about how it'll work either and for all we know it won't be much more than automating the purchase/relinquishing the old plot to ensure you don't end up no house at all (and you'll still lose airship progress and items that can't be picked up once placed etc).

I'd wait before demolishing your current house. Supposedly there's a "Move Feature" that is coming in the future. "Please look forward to it!" lol..

Here's a link to my thread when I posed a similar question after release of 3.3:

Something you could also consider is levelling up another FC to rank 6, buying a house with that and swapping everyone over. Before 3.3 was released I watched someone SOLO a new FC to rank 6 in less than 2 weeks so for multiple people should be pretty easy, definitely faster than waiting 5+ months for a move feature we don't really know anything about.

That won't solve making the existing house into a personal plot, but that's unlikely to happen anyway without being relinquished as they've never even hinted at any sort of conversion system.
