According to this interview, we are asked to report lag issues on Ifrit fights. I hope this is what they meant.

Physical Level: N/A
Area and Coordinates: Burning Cauldron
Party or Solo: Pary (8)
NPC Name: N/A
Monster Name: Ifrit
In-Game Time: 6/24 (approximately all day)
Steps:
1. Fighting Ifrit, wait for the cracks or lava to appear beneath you while only using auto-attack (no special attacks, TP moves, or buffs)
2. run to get off before the eruption/plume
3. eruption hits you regardless of whether or not you are off the area

By only using auto-attack, that certainly helps and most eruptions and plumes are avoided. But there are many cases where it does not.

I know this is a known issue. Again, I'm following what was reported from the interview linked above. It read: "Sage Sundi: I really would like to have everyone suffering from this issue to report to our support forum, so we can look if we have a network problem, not just too many hubs but also… If you have, like, over 1000 milliseconds, it’s probably a network problem. But if it’s not this, then we have to fix that on our side. So if anyone is experiencing this, post your address route result."

I'm not sure what he means by my "address route", so if you need additional information, just ask (and maybe provide instructions on how to obtain the information).
