Ifrit Lag thread (as requested from the JPGAMES.DE Interview)

I read the interview where they discussed lag during the ifrit fight and there is this part:

Sage Sundi: I really would like to have everyone suffering from this issue to report to our support forum, so we can look if we have a network problem, not just too many hubs but also… If you have, like, over 1000 milliseconds, it’s probably a network problem. But if it’s not this, then we have to fix that on our side. So if anyone is experiencing this, post your address route result.

So I thought I would post a short video I clipped from a FRAPS vid I had that show a problem with eruption that I have pretty consistently.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvQIWWZlYdw

For reference, I live in the UK, I'm on 20MB broadband, directly connected to the router via ethernet cable. Honestly it's never given me latency issues before and has been a pretty solid connection in the past.

I ask anyone else who has similair probelms to post about them too, as this is a frustrating issue that should be dealt with. If you have videos to support your posts, please go ahead and post them so we can provide a lot of data and hopefully help them figure whats going on here. Thanks.

it's frustrating, it's harder to fight the lag than ifrit itself

Someone on my server said this isn't a problem. Said it's me being too stupid to move out of the rift.

    /facepalm

radiant plume is usually worse than eruptions, with hitbox not being register correctly.

I can usually avoid eruptions and plumes pretty easily before 50%hp, after that if you don't move right after u see it pop underneath, you will usually get hit no matter where you are on the screen. I'm located in cali, usa and running on 25mb cable connection.

    That the worst!
There was a fight that I died in a "apparently" safe spot for plume (because I died right in that safe spot between them), so I got raised there and it still hit me for another horrible death! I was like WTF THERE WAS NO PLUME UNDERNEATH ME OMFG!
    It's really annoying.
Eruptions you can still avoid if you think ahead of the lag, like running before it even pops, but just to think you gotta do that it's already ridiculous.

Hello all, am from Spain and I have the same problem.
I move and I get the damage outside of the area.
Did lots of times Ifrit without a chance because this and it's very anoying.
The only way I can do this is thanks to a japanese friend telling me to move with Teamspeak, even when I not see the attack at all.

    Greetings,

We have created a sticky thread in the Technical Support forum to gather data from users who are experiencing possible issues with lag/network latency, etc. Please visit the thread and follow the steps listed so we can gather the appropriate feedback and compile it for the dev. team to investigate.
