Got my vote
Even though I will not par take in this due to my life has changed, I will say 14 do very much need a form of this. It was fun in 11. Craft between windows anyone?

FFXI Kings/HNM's are flawed in that it took boting to get them. If they made region based servers to cut the lag difference and made the game code solid against bots then fine put them back in. If not then no this game doesn't need the cheat fest that was FFXI's Kings/HNMs.
I've read the OP, and I've come to this conclusion. Denied!
We can have tough challenging battles, but I can assure you it is not fun standing around for hours, or waiting for days until a single monster pops.
Wandering Odin will give us that....perhaps...hopefully..
My 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil.
I take it you have NOT even played FFXI in some time. Here is the link to the implemented changes to those ground kings: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...rious-Monsters
In case you do not want to open a new tab here is the data from it: [dev1009] New Trigger Conditions for Notorious Monsters
[dev1009] New Trigger Conditions for Notorious Monsters
Trigger conditions for following notorious monsters will be adjusted to spawn by trading specific items to the “???” in the respective area.
Fafnir / Nidhogg: Dragon’s Aery
Behemoth / King Behemoth: Behemoth’s Dominion
Adamantoise / Aspidochelone: Valley of Sorrows
- The ”???” will respawn a minute after the battle is over.
- The NM will despawn if unclaimed for 90 seconds at the spawned location.
- The feature wherein the level of these monsters will increase after battling them for a period of time will remain unchanged.
How to obtain the trigger items:
Fafnir: Treasure from “Early Bird Catches the Wyrm”
Behemoth: Treasure from “Horns of War”
Adamantoise: Treasure from “The Hills are Alive”
* At least one of these items will be dropped in every battle.
Nidhogg: Treasure dropped by Fafnir
King Behemoth: Treasure dropped by Behemoth
Aspidochelone: Treasure dropped by Adamantoise
The treasures dropped by the following notorious monsters will be adjusted as follows:
Fafnir : Wyrm Beard removed
Nidhogg : Drop rate of Wyrm Beard decreased
Behemoth : Behemoth Tongue removed
King Behemoth : Drop rate of Behemoth Tongue decreased
Adamantoise : Adamantoise Egg removed
Aspidochelone : Drop rate of Adamantoise Egg decreased
That is right! They realized what a horrid idea it was when originally put into the game. So, they changed it to something much more tolerable.
Note: /rant I am tired of seeing "...make it like FFXI... & I quit when ToA was added." Get over yourself then, the game changed significantly since then. If you stopped at that point then there is NO point for you to use it as an argument. It's like arguing that you want the web to go back to how it was when the internet was first implemented. Change happens, learn to move on already. (yes I know the OP didn't quit at that time, based off his sig. just switch 'ToA' with whatever time frame that they did quit. or quit doing HNM's since they do not seem to know the current conditions). /rant
You are not very bright are you? Nobody cares about your new fisher price HNM pops. OP clearly stated the system anybody who actually played FFXI when it was relevant. Post your cute little /rant tags all you want. OP made their point people returned with the point the system was broken and should not be used in FFXIV.I take it you have NOT even played FFXI in some time. Here is the link to the implemented changes to those ground kings

Only positive side of the system back then was the social bonus. It was fun to hang around chat even talk smack with other LS's made even more fun when MPK was rampant. As a whole though it just stunk at the bottom line of who had faster ping and better bots.
Thanks for trying to insult me. But no, I hate to disappoint you but I am 'bright'. I'll assume you were referring to my level of intelligence with that word choice; as I am not radiant or reflecting light. You are not very bright are you? Lets see. For you next line about my 'new fisher price HNM pops'. I had no idea I actually had owner ship in something you would allude to as being coded/rule changed to befit only a baby/young child. I will not make that claim, I know I owned nothing having to do with a games rule set. Well to be honest this sentence you wrote and your last sentence tie together pretty well. I is explain you what think process I has, I try 'fisher price' for U so you canz /follow logic.
I understand very well that the OP made a point, it is their right to do so on a forum discussion board. I understand that people returned with their own equal allowed point(s). Now, IF you'll reread my 'cute little /rant tags' (so glad you caught me there, as that was the intent of it), I apologize for that I mean for you to read between those tags, you will find that my point was the same as the other people. GASP! I am sorry if I opened some old wounds for you with my reference to the time frame in which you seem to thing the game of FFXI is no longer relevant. Mmm 'relevant' how I do enjoy that word. Which puts us right back on track of finishing those words I sprinkled inside my /rant tags. The game or games of any other name do become irrelevant to most people at different times; that was why I said/implied to get over it and live with the change. Funny thing is, even FFXI still held relevance for many people even after this 'fisher price HNM' system was implemented.
Now, if you would like some further readings to held educate yourself I would suggest you read the works of Einstein. He does such a wonderful job of explaining that funny little word 'relevance'. If you got a good grasp of all of that, I would tell you to go check out Brian Greene's books. He's got 4 total. I read 3 so far and they expound upon the ideas of Einstein and many many other physicist. Truly great reads.
Heck, I would even suggest to you to go back to college and get a couple of degrees. I did myself. Now, I deplore the way most teaching is done; but that is another subject for another time. None the less, it was still an experience that managed to help me grasp some of the finer common sense areas of life.
I hope you are not too offended by some of my more sarcastic remarks. Haha, I know it's hard to tell if any of it was not sarcastic. But seriously, do have a good night. I know I will be dreaming of you, and what you may potentially look like.
xoxo~ Stellar Dissociative
I'm pretty flattered you took the time to make a reply like that for me. I should look for more of your posts to reply to, maybe I can get a small book out of them.
