As with many other situations in this game, the criteria seems to change a lot from GM to GM.

By the way, all you're saying encourages exactly what the OP was trying to get at: That some of us don't want to tank anymore because of these kind of attitudes. This isn't a job, we don't NEED to tank, we do it for enjoyment but if we no longer enjoy it we won't do it anymore. We sure have an influx of new tanks because of DRK and how good WARs are now, but let's see how many stick to it in the long term and don't get back to rolling their face on the keyboard as their dps of choice.

Go ahead and pull mobs ahead of me when I'm tanking. I have other things to do and don't mind leaving. How's that extra time waiting fora replacement tank working for your speed run now?

I find it extremely confusing how people can wait in a queue for 10-15 minutes to get a party and then bitch because the dungeon could be done 2 minutes faster. If your time was that precious, you wouldn't tolerate waiting in the queue in the first place.

Haha, this is such a good point. By the time you bicker with the current tank, kick, and then wait for your replacement - you more than likely would have already finished the dungeon in question.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm assuming most of the people demanding speed/perfect runs don't have a tank, or if they do, they can't be bothered to use it for roulettes. If you're so concerned about how the tank plays, level one yourself and queue as nothing else. Problem solved.

I've been tanking for years now and honestly, I hate people like Evangela or Fourbestintoner. You have no idea what a serious mess it is for a tank to get the aggro back from your pulls and the stress it is for a tank to reposition the mobs for you to avoid easily any AOE...

If a tank pulls individual groups, it's adding maybe 10 minutes max to a run. Some people just aren't comfortable doing full pulls, and that's OK. Or perhaps they're new to tanking/dungeon/whatever.

And no, I am not telling people to go out and become primadonnas, but if they are so bothered with how the general public plays a particular role, I am advising them to go out there and do it themselves. "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself" type of thinking. Run up and unleash, everything's good again. If you're going to try and punish your group by using q times, then you're using your position as tank to hold the group hostage. And just plain being a dick.

Someone being immature towards you (like pulling extra stuff) does not give license to be immature to them ("well then screw u enjoy q times!"). All that means is that 2 people were immature instead of 1.

What if I want passable dps? Or a whm that knows what holy is? I can't do all 4 roles myself, so expecting some degree of competency from my party members isn't so much to ask.

I don't want to tank. Not because it's high stress (it's really not). I did it for years. I'm tired of it. I'm not gonna do it just because so many other people are bad at it. It's not what I enjoy. Why does that mean I don't get any say in how my group's handle stuff? I'm still 1/4 of the party regardless.

Keeping the group hostage is what I'm having a hard time to understand.

I pull, I keep aggro, we clear, we move on the next, rince and repeat, we move on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd boss, we win.. Where are the hostages in here?

Agreed. Which is what I've been saying. They're 1/4 of the group, and get as much say as everyone else. Others are saying that they should get more of a say just because they're tanks, which is primadonna behavior.
