Really Jennestia? Is that why all of Gifthorse and Azuryember's other suggestions have been put in the game?
Give the development team some credit...
I think people need to escape the idea that we need to tip toe around ideas incase SE accidently slips up one day and drops one in by accident. If the general consensus is that it's a good idea, it's not usually that bad.
Anyways, I think the obvious answer is to make the levelling process fun by including lots of events, battles and story missions along the way so you feel fully involved, not just that you're pushing for endgame.
How about we just have everyone start the game at level 50, with all the best gear and everything beaten already. That would be fun, right?
Really! And why don't they just let us automatically win all the tougher fights just by showing up? I mean, having to fight Ifrit and possibly losing means you have to do it over... and that's such an annoying grind...
/sarcasm mode off
And why stop there? Let's just have you win everything without having to move an inch! In fact, you don't even have to log on or play the game at all. The game has been entirely completed for you. You don't even have to be aware of the games existence.
lol I used to joke around about WoW... Saying that even if Blizzard implemented a "Win Instantly" button that automatically completed all content and gave all the best rewards, there would be people complaining that they had to press the button and it didn't happen automatically.
I said that a few years ago and it was completely in jest.
As time marches on, though, it seems we're getting closer and closer to it.
Once upon a time, the mere suggestion of this thread would have been seen as so unthinkable as to be ridiculous; who ever posted it would be considered either a troll, or paranoid.
Yet here we are.
Anyway... Yoshi's indicated his ideal time to reach 50 is about 3 months as I recall. So I think it's a non-argument anyway.

It's not that kind of MMO dear.
Stop.
That is never a viable excuse. Like I said in another thread:
No. But neither is the endgame of FFXIV.[it's] like an excuse to bring up new ideas without having to justify it against well established systems with anything other than being newer and convenient for one type of player.

For the same reason people level multiple alts in MMOs where it's one class per character. For the variety in playstyle and because the idea of doing level 10 content is to do it at level 10... not level 50.
