    I mentioned this before in another thread but think it would be relevant here. I also have another point.

    One thing they could do is make a coliseum type event where you or a small group of people can engage in a fight against a semi-randomly generated monster. It would be similar to a BCNM but wouldn't drop nice loot. You could adjust the difficulty to make it as hard or easy as possible. It would reward experience points but the purpose would be for fun and to learn new strategies (build team work with LS mates, for example). Also, and this is my additional point, is I think there could be a crude PvP element added to this. Sure, it might not be balanced at first, but I think a simple 1v1 and 4v4 and 8v8 ballista type event would be fun too.

    To me, these are two ideas that would involve relatively little development and could serve as fun... diversions, until real content comes out.

    Thoughts?

    there is no quick fix time sink though. the tup of sink he is talking about is some 5 year plan to achieve a rare weapon which will take time and planning. they cant just throw it in the game real quick cause people are bored, they are trying to develop a game. its in a play at your own risk stage right now now if you are playing for 20 hours a day with limited content then maybe people should ease up a bit.

    what i suggested is already in game and can give people something to do if they are really that bored and dont wanna play something else.

    It's a good idea. What would happen in regards of XP gain and how much would you do the event? If you could constantly repeat it people would use that as a means to level up instead of doing leves or normal grinding, which can be seen in both a good and a bad way I suppose...

    How about if there was a rare encounter during the PvE version where a special NM appeared that did drop cool loot but it had a small chance of happening, just to spice it up a bit?

    i like them ideas, i would go as far as adding also instanced ones, pve battlegrounds ...2 groups put into a similar battle scenario fighting that said mob or mobs and graded by time, and other variables perhaps.

    would love to see some pvp too but they say that is also on way, questionably when would be years in i bet. by that time the game will have been fail and they won't have to do good on most there promises lmao.

    Exp could be set based on difficulty and number of party members. But just to give a number, could be like 500 exp per fight with each fight lasting around 15-20 minutes. Not a viable way to level, but would give you something for participating to encourage participation. I imagine the fight would be very similar to boss mechanics, but what that particular monster does would be somewhat random. For example, you could have a Marlboro with enhanced speed and casts AoE magic, but takes double damage from behind (just made up example, sure there could be way better/more divers). That way you wouldn't know ahead what you would be faced with. The point of the event would be fun, challenge, and building teamwork with little risk and little reward.

    i liked your idea konni, it kinda remind me of some of the ffxi assault battles. there were some where full party had to get threw it an hit switches all over the area, but there were mobs all over walking around, and if you got caught/seen by them you got ported right back to start. it was also one of the hardest ones in there lol, even the fighting ones were easier. people always getting caught by the mobs ...specially last switch. can be very fun idea if done right.

    Time sink if often regarded as negative pointless work.

    To keep players busy, card games would prolly be the best and simplest thing they could add (and lot of players request them).

    PvP arena is another good option, but seems more complex to implement.
