I think you're being a bit unfair there, I'm sure there's more to it than just not wanting to do animations. Dancer fits in just as much, if not less, with the current jobs than Bard does. They can always introduce more classes and jobs later. If Dancer was ever introduced it could easily be one of those cross-class jobs.

Archer was the only class in the list without an obvious job and Bard was the only job in the list without an obvious class. Put 2 and 2 together.

What list? wheres the official post on the forum from the devs themselves. The post was created by a jp player that transcribed it from an online only jp magazine http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/14804 . There's no actual proof that the 7 jobs were ever released officially.

Exactly, regardless the game is gonna lose a lot of arc's soon. between the damage algs changing and bard no one is gonna be arc but me =D yay lol

Ok so i keep looking at it, its not a crossbow, or a wrist bow because its attached to the actual bow, HOWEVER, a 6 stringed harp is rather stupid and in the position its at it would be rather impossible to play. I believe we are forgetting that FF weapons are usually now practical, it may just be another pointless attachment to make it look *cool*

Now as far as Bard goes, i welcome it, though i would definitely prefer a lute and i hope they would bring a vast majority of music to the table rather than 1 5 second song that plays every time you use to bard skill, like i've seen in many other games.

Bows with arrow holders on them do exist, but that thing just looks odd, and definitely lyre like, and... so... so awful.
