unable to shut ffxiv program properly

hi, since the the hw expac came out I have been unable to shut down the game properly (PC windows only, ps4 works fine). I close it down, with the "log out" feature and then get a black screen, I have to open task manager to "end program".
It doesnt just affect my pc, my partner's does the same.
Not sure if its a bug or tech problem, but thought best to put it here, thanks

Shutdown problems can be caused by start up programmes. Disable all your start up programmes then reboot, run Heavensward and log out, if the problem is solved start adding your start up programmes again one by one until the problem rises again, then you will know which programme is preventing Heavensward from shutting down correctly.

Sorry but this isn't likely since I and others in this thread have all be having the issue since using the DX11 client last Friday. It's most likely yet "another" issue with the client that many of us have had (crash to desktops etc.).

Hi, I've tried checking to see if other programs are effecting this and can't seem to anything clashing. A few of my fc players are having the same issue's, some get a box saying its unable to shut down properly and others have the same as me.
The old version didn't seem to have the issue very often so I think it's a dx11 issue.
I don't have anything really installed on my PC as it's just been wiped and it's still happening. Just wondered if "it" is another bug, if it is I hope it gets fixed soon :-)

Try this. I did it just now and it did not crash for me. Instead of exiting from the game, log out and then exit from there.

I have exactly the same issue but it started before the expansion

It close with no issues if I click on Exit from the game menu

If I press the red X button game will crash on closing
