Mechanics like this are a great gil sink (something the game lacked for quite a while), and give the player the chance to gamble for power. I think potentially blowing up several pieces of gear to perfect an item the way you want it is a completely fair tradeoff.
Except that's the problem, Alhanelem. It's a **gamble**, which means it has nothing to do with hard work or skill sometimes. Some people will just be lucky enough, or rich enough (usually, by exploiting other luck-based aspects of the game) to take the so-called "risk" and always come out on top. Whereas, other players, who put just as much time and effort, if not more, into the EXACT same process will get completely screwed. Luck is bad enough with drop rates and HQ crafting...

Let's try to keep the awful aspects of this game to a minimum please.
