version check error ps4 post HW pre-order code

I was playing fine last night after the patch, got an email telling me I could put my pre-order and early access code in so I went and did that this morning via the psn store as instructed.

Downloaded and installed fine, started the game and it ran a very long update.

Now whenever I try and log in, I get the error:

Unable to complete version check
[20458][24530][20457][404]

I have tried restarting the ps4, exiting the game entirely and re-running several times and nothing is working!

hai, I read that before posting, error code and circumstances are different. My game was working perfectly after the patch yesterday, I finished all the HM primals and got my relic before turning it off at just gone midnight (GMT)

Now I'm getting this issue this morning... Thought maybe because the code was different it needed a different thread. The solution there is only for pc as well

Same Problem.

The last error code (404) looks like an HTTP error (page not found). If that is the case, SE screwed up communication with PSN (letting PSN deliver the Heavensward download before having the version check infrastructure in place.)

That's what I assumed too with the [404] I don't want to have to do a full re-install of the game, and I can't seem to roll-back the update version to last night's until the issue is fixed either... I hope they fix it soon, I'm supposed to be running post-game with my FC tonight to get my Zenith

THIS IS JUST A THOUGHT, NOT CONFIRMED AS A WORKAROUND: I cannot access my PS4 right now, but I thought that maybe this works: Can you try to deinstall the add-on (not the main game!) via the PSN store application, and then try again logging in from the FFXIV application?

Not that I can see, if you go to FFXIV:ARR>Add ons there's no options menu, just a "download" button

IMO, "Unable to complete version check" means, that launcher cant read current game version from local files (cleaned as result of error?) like in this post about PC version solution:

When file with version is empty, game not started (because cant does version check before). On PS4 we cant editing files then ... only solution (if SE dont change something) is install from scratch.

But if the error is with the HW download, there'd be no point in updating because it'll update to the latest found version, which in my case is the HW patch. so it'll just reinstall the glitched file?

Problem is, IMO, with update checking, not with real update. In yours case, you have latest version, but launcher still will does checking (launcher check for update after every login, before game will launch).
