Everyone should have to play by the same rules. And at present, the balance of convenience and "immersion" has not been struck. Sorry. So when Chocobos and airships are implemented, they will need to restrict anima usage or else the world will continue to feel even smaller than it is.
And like was stated earlier people who travel fast will start to force the people who do enjoy airplanes to travel fast with them.
