While I can't say for sure, I think this idea was definitively put down. While carbys are cute, they just don't have the know-how to grasp finer Nymian strategies. Heck, even I have to refer to my book every 1.93 seconds or so.

You can do what I do and go ACN is easy content like CT,ST,WoD. People didn't seem to mind and many were kinda happy with seeing carbuncle in combat again.

I since carby is on the ground it's harder to spot it with some much going on

If I remember correctly a dev said that this idea had been definitively shot down. Personally, I would really love to see Carbuncle be brought back...seems kinda silly to not use it. Especially since it seems like there won't be any new classes or use for current ones.

They just need to add diamond carbuncle as a future summoner pet, with different stances for DPS or Tank. Or if they ever allow companions other then chocobos, then SMN could have exclusive carby companion
