    Confused about covering chocobos...

So I've already got to level 44 and I'd like to breed my female chocobo, but I find very confusing the way the game explains how I have to proceed.

Supposedly, I need to first retire my female chocobo, and then...buy a covering permision G9F or G9M...? And then go to Central Shroud?

First, you get your chocobo to RANK 40 or higher, then you retire it and you receive a certificate. From there, my understanding is you get a cover permission and then take that with your certificate to bentbranch meadows and talk to the chocobo people there to breed.

Question....as the patch notes say "covering can be arranged between two of your own retired chocobos, or between one retired chocobo and a breeding chocobo hired at the Manderville Gold Saucer."......so, let's say I have a F choco and want to cross her with a buddy/FC friend M choco....you can't, right?....isn't it odd?.....you kinda take the mmo aspect out of it...

Well, on the other hand I think it could be this way to prevent ppl from "renting" their Chocobos as breeding stallions for gil....

As of patch 2.51, it will be possible to breed with chocobos you have raised and retired yourself, or you can breed with chocobs made available in exchange for Manderville Gold Saucer points. For a future update, we are drawing up plans to make it possible to breed your chocobos with other players’ chocobos.

Ok, I retired my female chocobo and got a G1-F registration paper...now I guess I need to get a male registration paper...however, does it need to be G1 also or going for a G2-9 male chocobo would be more optimal?

Wait... How do you get a second chocobo if not from breeding? If you can't then... Either it's a parent or sibling of the chocobo ....

You are apparently able to rent breeding partners in-game if you don't have a second one yourself.

OP, you may honestly be on your own to figure out the specifics. You are likely one of the first people doing this.

Yes, but even if you rent a breeding chocobo the first time... Then breed your own chocobos together after... Your chocobos will always be related Unless you can purchase a second chocobo.
