    PS4: FFXIV deleted itself

    Hello,

I apologize if this is in the wrong thread. I'm not sure if this is a client/FFXIV/PS4 operating system issue... maybe all of the above combined, I'm not sure. But I usually always exit the application by pressing the "Home/PS" button, then press the "option" and choose "Close Application," which immediately closes the game. Apparently, my roommate did this earlier today so we could watch Hulu, but when I closed Hulu to open FFXIV, I couldn't find it on the PS4 menu. I looked at the storage, and I had nearly all of my free space open. So... FFXIV was deleted off of my PS4 by closing it this way.

I know I will probably be criticized for closing the application in this way, and of course I know I shouldn't. It didn't cause any issues for me in the past, and I didn't hear of any glitch happening from anyone else... so why would I think it would be a problem? lol.

Anyway, I suppose it would be advisable for others to not close the FFXIV application this way, just in case they do the same thing on their PS4 systems. Be sure to choose "log out" within the game, then wait for it to get to the client log-in screen before closing it! It says its going to take 4 hours to download, and then I still have to suffer through updating the patch (which won't take as long, but still...).

    Be warned x_x

Of course... maybe my roommate accidentally hit delete and is trying to cover up his steps... but I mean, he's 25 years old; it's not like it's a 6-year-old's accident of not knowing what they're doing with data. xD So I believe him.
