3rd Party Program for hunts please patch

I ain't going to pretend to know anything about coding or anything like that.. but surely there is a way to block out FFXIVapp and guildwork's (and others like it) hunt pop finders.. Hunts used to be a fun thing where people scoured the area looking for the pop.. updating the website to keep track of when pops are coming etc etc.

Now theres 30 people at a pop within a second because people use these programs to tell them the pop is there.. People are even silly enough to just copy paste the notification they get into chat.

There's literally no point in hunting now unless you use one of these apps.. and then its not hunting its waiting for a notification.

SE if you put hunts in heavensward which i hope you do, you really need to figure this stuff out cos the fun has been sucked out of it

As far as we know FF14 has no anti-cheat software so unless you admit it or show chat etc. SE don't know anything about them. Report the worst offenders and we'll see how they like it when they get a permanent ban. Something I've noticed over the years with MMO gamers: if you do something wrong and the publisher ignores it it's a green light and it will explode with the number of people doing it.

Until devs crack down on it, in DAoC (Dark Age of Camelot) people used radar for a couple years to gain advantage in pvp. Got to point that if you didn't use it, you were at an extreme disadvantage, till one day Mythic posted that they'd banned about 15% of the player base due to using said radar, after that no one dared to use it again.

I'm fairly certain that if a small company like Mythic, could detect radar hacks back in early 2000's, SE has no problem tracking it currently.

For them to crack down on it they would have to change their ToS and have you agree to having your computer, memory, processes, hard drive ect, be monitored when running FFXIV so they could take action. FFXIV has no cheat monitoring program like some mmos do. All those programs you mentioned are invisible to FFXIV.

I know right and it was probably his worse mistake, even with 147 likes it gave a solid reason to... Let's call them "C-Players" to report the thread itself in order to mute the subject.

But I'm not here to defend or justify my brother's thread, what is done is now part of the past, I just wanted to make a fair warning to people in this thread... Be wary with your words.

I appreciate the warning but I am merely stating facts here that, these things exist. People know the exist and nothing seems to be getting done about it meaning customer enjoyment of a product is suffering. Ain't naming and shaming anyone would just like it to be fixed so i can enjoy hunts again
