Level sync and PvP gear

- Just now i play using i110-120 PvE gear
- In frontlines item level is synced to 80
- my PvP level is low now, and will be low for a month or two

Ther are i90 PvP gear w/o level restriction and it seems to me i can buy it in a few days. Another possible goal - keep wolf marks for i110

So, questions.

- is level synced to 80 i90 gear better than a level synced mix from i110-130 non PvP?
- what can be better for such condition- quickly buy i90 or play in PvE and get i110 after rank 42? I think that during PvP leveling to 42+ rank my PvE gear will become 120-130 mix

Old post but it'll give you the jist. That link provides some good PVE-for-frontline examples.

It depends on what PVE gear you have, ilvl aside. Look at the secondary stats. Compare your PVE secondary stats to the i90 equivelent. If your pve gear has next to useless secondaries like parry, accuracy, speed, pvp item would be better.

It will depend heavily on your preferred PvP class(es) is/are a what build you are looking for.

If you are planning to be a Bard and want to do a Crit/Det build these PvE pieces should work well:


Weapon: Elfin Bow (syncs to +18 Det +33 Crit) -> Thunderdart (syncs to +20 Det +33 Crit) -> Yochi Bow(Crit/Det)* (syncs to +23 Det +33 Crit, same as Dreadwyrm Longbow and Birdliege Bow but has the slightly shortest autoattack delay of the 3)
Head: Kirimu Tricorne* (+13 Det, +18 Crit, shares BiS with Birdsong Mask, no perfect +13/+19 pieces currently exists)
Body: Aural Tabard (+19/+30) -> Aural Tabard (+20/+30) -> Demon Tabard of Aiming* (+21/+30)
Hands: (Augmented) Ironworks Vambraces of Aiming* (Synces to +13/+19)
Waist: (Augmented) Ironworks Belt of Aiming* (Synces to +10/+14)
Legs: Bard's Tights (Synces to +17/+30, both Birdliege and Bardsong Breeches will synce to +21/+30)
Feet: Bogatyr's Thighboots of Ranging (+13/+16) -> Demon Boots of Aiming* (+13/+19)
Ears: None
Neck: High Allagan Choker of Aiming (+9/+14, Hellwolf Choker of Aiming syncs to +10/+14)
Wrists: Bogatyr's Armillae Of Ranging (+9/+14) -> Dreadwyrm Bracelet Of Aiming (+10/+14)
Ring 1: Bogatyr's Ring Of Ranging (+9/+14) (Werewolf Ring of Aiming synces to +10/+14
Ring 2: Hero's Ring Of Aiming (+8/+14)

DpS usually need fewer PvP pieces to get PvP BiS than other classes since their pieces lack dead stats more often.

I have practically all recommended PvE gear.
Additionnaly found out that
- i90 myth shoes (crit det) seems to be better than divine light i80 (det speed)
- pvp i90 chocker (crit det) is the best i have or can quickly obtain and doesn't cost a lot
- pvp ring has det stat and can replace weathered/auroral one
- crafted 110 hat nq (crit det) may be good choice (better than ironworks/auroral) but it COSTS even when nq
- i haven't Syrcus tower's hat and decided to replace ironworks (det acc) hat to pvp one (crit speed)

Ps Still don't understand what does morale mean - it doesn't work at all in frontlines?
And i dont understand in such conditions why to buy i110 pvp

That thread was started before Frontlines and PvP were released and before Morale was changed and PvP pieces received a second secondary stat. (They originally had only a single secondary and Morale which was a super stat in Wolf's Den)

Morale was changed so that it boosts the items ilevel by its bonus in PvP areas, increasing stats by the difference between the stat cap of the item's original and new ilevels. (i.e. i90 Bodies and Legs have +34 for the cap for most stats and +24 for Det. i100 Bodies and Legs have +34 for most and +27 for Det. i90 PvP Bodies and Legs get a +3 bonus to Det and +4 bonus to the other stats in PvP areas. Direwolf Robe of Casting becomes +27 Det/+28 Crit instead of +27 Det/+26 like the Weathered Evenstar Coat)

Ilevelsync works by lowering the items stats to the ilevels stat caps. A i90+ Body synced to i80 would have its stats lowered to +30 for most and +21 for Det if they are higher than those numbers.


Each slot has different caps, at i80 the caps are the following:

• Two handed Weapon: +33 Most/ +23 Det
• One handed Weapon: +23 Most/ +18 Det
• Shield: +9 Most/+5 Det
• Head: +19 Most/+13 Det
• Body: +30 Most/+21 Det
• Hands: +19 Most/+13 Det
• Waist: +14 Most/+10 Det
• Legs: +30 Most/+21 Det
• Feet: +19 Most/+13 Det
• Accessories: +14 Most/+10 Det

Black Mages seem to prefer Spell Speed/Det while Summoners seem to prefer Crit/Det.

I go full Crit/ Det as a blk mage, with a mix of Pve/Pvp gear. Spell speed and Skill speed are as useless as Acc in Pvp; who cares is you shave 1/3 of a sec off your GCD or cast time. Since Im constantly on the move, and only stop to cast if I know I can burst damage a target, id rather stick with my 1k+ Scathes. Aim to gear in a way that Crit is the highest stat on gear, followed by Det
