Playing without macros is the ideal way to go - at least theoretically - since you can't queue macro abilities which causes a tiny delay between macroed skills. I personally haven't played healer with macros since first Coil, and stopped because they felt clunky to me compared to not using them. As SCH, you will also be using different abilities at the same time (for example, casting Adlo while you're using Embrace or Whispering Dawn from Fairy), and you can't run 2 different macros simultaneously (and since Embrace has lower cooldown than your own abilities, tying it to your own casts in a macro slows the fairy down and also prevents you from casting on one target yourself and on another with your fairy). This are the reasons I don't personally recommend using macros. The only macro I have on SCH is /ac "Virus" <f>, which lets me use Virus on my focus target (usually the boss) while I'm healing a tank, for example.
