    I've been performing some basic tests. In all cases we fed the respective fruit until the "growing new feathers" message appears and then stopped.

    The first set was Berries and Plums. All tests started from Desert Yellow Chocobo's.

    Berries:3, Plums:1 -> Ul Brown
    Berries:4 -> Ul Brown

    Pears and Pineapples
    Pears:9, Pineapples:1 -> Cream Yellow
    Pears: 10 -> Cream Yellow

    Last was Apples and Valfruit
    Apples:3 -> (awaiting results)
    Apples:3, Valfruit:3 -> Millioncorn Yellow

    Based on previous forum posts, and comparing to these results, unless a effect begins to happen at large numbers of messages, I'm beginning to lean towards your chocobo only changing based on the first fruit to give a message. If the final apple test results in millioncorn yellow which I expect it should, then it should pretty much confirm those results.

    Next test, is a single fruit, 1 message vs.. say 5? to see how different the impact is.

    Forgot to add, all tests were performed in the same stables at the same condition. The results are consistent across chocobo's with a large level gap, so I do not believe level plays a part.

    Some additional results, Plums and Berries to a single message resulted in sylph green, consistent with results of just plums to a message. We also had a guildie feed an apple, pineapples to message and then more apples with no message. She got Honey Yellow, consistent with just pineapples.

    One (somewhat costly) experiment that would be extremely useful would be to try "undoing" various changes with the opposite fruit. I would very much like to hear if this is a reproducible phenomenon. The biggest hurdle is the fact that it will take at least two seasons. Starting from a recorded N and N + 1 state, you will need to us the opposite transformation that was used to get to N + 1 and attempt to return it to its N state. It's not scientific, but I believe if we can get at least 5 instances of it working from different colour states, we can say with a fair amount of certainty that the Deepening and Lightening fruit do complete negations.

    I have actually been testing this on my lavender bird. mostly just for science.
    Lavender to plum with 1 valfruit proc, then back to Lavender using its opposite, the pear.
    Lavender to Raptor blue with 1 Plum proc, then reversed back to Lavender using 1 apple proc.
    My guess is that if I fed pineapples to my bird he would turn corpse blue. as I have seen the reversal of that once already from corpse to lavender using 1 berry proc. But as our fruit supply is running low, I'll need to hold off on that for now.

    Links to entries that include chat log: (at least in some format)
    Rose Pink
    Snow White Not exactly chat log, but she is clear
    Lavender Purple (may be translation error, should be Lav. Blue?) Again, no log, accurate count.
    Sylph Green No log, hopefully she meant she stopped upon receiving "feathers" message. eta: Even better, she lists 3 birds that tried the Plums up to the feather message, stopped, and got Sylph Green! Oh, haha, it's Jayne422's (OP) birds. XD
    Sylph Green 2 No log, feedings with messages rec'd. Note: Also only one feathers message with plums. XD It's Lavaeh's bird.
    Sylph Green 3 Y'all get the idea One 'feathers' with plums = Sylph Green.
    Othard Blue Not able to tell how many fruits 'counted'
    Othard Blue 2 Again, high number of messages. Not sure how many 'matter'.
    Apple Green to Cactaur Green Unfortunately, she did not count messages to get to Apple Green
    Coral Pink

    NO CHANGE (Desert Yellow) General count Dunno, may be important...

    No longer updating here. Please see my post, page 1.

    Calling out to VOLUNTEERS on: EXODUS

    Just a heads up to the thread, I have about 5-6 friends from various FCs who are going to be kind enough to let me record data. Some are willing to try different experiments to achieve either same colors or even new colors we haven't tried yet! I'm going to keep tabs on their data, and they're going to allow me to create spreadsheets for them as well!

    So, I'm calling out to other folks on Exodus! If you don't feel like recording your data, setting up a spreadsheet, or posting to this thread or others. Look me up! I'll gladly record the data for you, and I'll put it in the thread/create a spreadsheet.

    Also going to go out and toss this up, if you need Soil/Seeds/Fruits, I'm willing to do trades/farm up what you need. I would prefer to trade Fruits for Seeds/Soil, if you're so inclined! Or if you want to simply experiment with your own bird to help us out with data, I'll be happy to supply you with fruits/soils/fertilizer under the understanding that you be meticulous with your data!

    Thanks everybody! Off to record more data!!

    Did you only feed your bird 2 berries in that one sitting?
