Does anyone know how to get a darker shade of blue (mine's peacock) to a lighter shade? (Something like sky blue).
The only thing that lightens blue hue i know would be pineapple and apple, but i really wouldn't want it to turn out to something that isn't blue anymore.

If it helps, i had my chocobo as Coral Pink, then fed it doman plums (lighten red fruit) until i saw a single growing new feathers message, and got Rose Pink. Still pink, but a lighter shade. So if the same logic would apply to yours, i'd say use the Pineapple (lightens blue) to get the color your looking for.Does anyone know how to get a darker shade of blue (mine's peacock) to a lighter shade? I'm pretty sure that Sky Blue is max cyan. Feed it Doman Plums.Does anyone know how to get a darker shade of blue (mine's peacock) to a lighter shade? (Something like sky blue).

Introduction:
Hey guys, so this post will cover the progress of my Chocobo, Lanister (No, it is no relation to GoT or anything in any way, name was picked based purely on how it sounded with my own name.
My post will be broken down into stages. The main header for each section will be "Colouring #" with sub headers of "Feed #:" which will detail the food given, the amount of each, and the order in which it was given. I will also give some details as to my choice as why I selected certain foods and why I went with the order, this may vary as I may not do it at all. The next subheader will be "Update #:" which will show the results of feeding stated in the subheader it proceeds. This will usually include a screenshot of the companion menu showing the colour and the supplied image and just a small amount of text stating the colour. Bear in mind, these images are hosted on my personal imgur account and may be mistakenly removed at some point, hence the accompanying text.
Aims:
My aims for my chocobo is to progress through to colouring him to Soot Black.
Resources:
There are two main documents out there which I am using for my progress. The primary document I am using, purely for the RGB numbers of a specific colour is this spreadsheet.
[The owner of this document has not left details oh his/her character.]
My secondary resource is also linked in the primary document and can be found here.

Experimentation:
Colouring 1
Feed 1:
Fed my chocobo today from scratch. Went red>green>blue>repeat with the darkening feeds.
Fed1617* of each. Will come back with results and screenshot to this post when I have them.
*I fed one extra of each because I logged out and back in and wanted to see how long was left before the chocobo was going to change.
Hoping to go for black.
UPDATE 1:
I got a lovely Halatali Yellow
Colouring 2
Feed 2:
Next feed is 10,8,1 of the RGB darkening feeds respectively.
I took the difference of the values of this colour and soot black and took a ratio of feeds. The difference was [122, 90, 12] so dividing each by 12 gave me the 10, 8, 1 of the foods.
UPDATE 2:
Chocobo has now progressed to Acorn Brown
Going by my last attempt, the foods didn't change the values proportionally but are getting me closer now with a difference of [98, 46, -7].
Looking at data input on this spreadsheet, someone also got Halatali Yellow by feeding 10 of each snack. Perhaps it's not entirely on the amount of snacks, but the ratio to which snacks are fed. This is purely speculation, I would assume there is a minimum number of snacks to be fed to determine the colour but considering someone fed 10 of each compared to my 17 of each, there's a significant difference.
Colouring 3
Feed 3:
Anyway, here's my next feed:
I did go for a 2:1 ratio on the red:green darkening respectively considering the difference for red:green from the soot black is 98, 46 respectively. Although, the Blue is -7 from soot black, I may need to feed a blue lightening one but will see how this turns out.
Results will be back in less than one hour.
UPDATE 3:
Chocobo has progressed to Blood Red
This is a lighter shade of red than the previous colour which is odd considering I feed only darkening feed. Blue has risen slightly, which is good as it is closer to soot black. Green has gone down slightly.
Colouring 4
Feed 4:
Currently out of darkening feed right now so progress on colouring is coming to a halt. I am hoping I am not too far off now. Will continue to update when I get more food.

One of the best threads ever
What i am seeing however is people using same recipes and get different results so once again rng is involved in some way.
All info however gives us all an idea of were to start or experiments to try![]()
I've got another thread up where we're trying to collect more detailed data on how colors are obtained.
It can be found here: Chocobo Dye Experimentation Thread
Cool, thanks for the link as wellI've got another thread up where we're trying to collect more detailed data on how colors are obtained.

Tonight i may try my own experiments
This could be attributed to what foods are being fed in what order as well. For example someone could list 5 pineapple, 10 berries, 2 valefruit over the course of 3 feed cycles where they used a different food at the start of each feed cycle (i.e Cylcle 1:valefruit, Cycle 2: pineapple).
The next person might attempt to feed the same total # of listed foods but start their feed cycle with a different fruit (i.e. Cycle 1:10 berries, Cycle 2: valefruit).
This is just speculation of course but seems highly likely given the variations being experienced.
