These things are a nightmare. I can get my quality to 100% but end up short on durablity to finish my progress. Here is what i am using.

This will get quality to 100% but bust on progress. How do I make it work so i can hq these dang straps. I need my tool lol This is assuming I am using HQ materials as well.

Throw one or two Piece by Piece actions in there. One will get you a good amount of progress, two will get you half-way.

It's a nfew macros each time, but when I got the CP I used the three star macros in this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/161102-Elasia-s-Mass-Manufacturing-3-Star-HQ-Macros

Usually got 85-100% quality with no progress problems.

How do I make it work so i can hq these dang straps.

I don't use macros for 2-3 star items to be able to change my course depending on the situation.
That way my HQ rate for all the tools I got so far is ~95% without overmelds.
Using HQ Bouillabaisse for CP and HQ mats.

Read through my rotation and notes in this thread. It's 100% every time without relying on any RNG actions.

While those other suggestions are great and will probably yield higher chance of overall success, you could just change your own rotation. Drop that one Hasty Touch. Use Waste Not 1 instead of Waste Not 2. There's your durability.
