I've found that in my groups, if someone is ON the job and says "Hey, I plan to actually wear this and not just glamour it," most people will pass it to them. Not all the time though. On the flip side, if this guy has done as many CT runs as you claim, he probably has a lot of myth. Just buy the better i90 gear with myth earned from CT and be done with it.

Not to mention they only really need enough myth gear to get i70 for coil entry and then they can get geared up the rest of the way through that.

Equal loot rights for equal participation in content is well and good, but it doesn't account for the notion that not everyone's "need" may be considered equal.

Overblown RL analogy: a geared person rolling Need purely for glamour use when there are obviously undergeared players of that same class in the party is something like a wealthy person claiming a reward of comparatively small monetary value for the sake of novelty when they had the opportunity to cede it to someone obviously in need. You could definitely make the argument that the wealthy participant was just as entitled to claim the reward based on time invested, but at the same time, you have to consider what a difference it would have made to the person who might have used it to improve their life experience.

One situation doesn't fit all, but it's not as simple as everyone's need being equal in all circumstances or it being selfish to suggest that it might be appropriate to prioritize the needs of some over others.

RL stupid comparisons with computer game...there is no hunger, definitive death, characters feel nothing.

About need in gear play with friends, or FC members. A static group will look for the need to improve the team as a whole, but in a random group? It is just a lottery, roll the dice and move on.
