Even if most people did agree with this, would people be okay with Yoshi-P stop content production to change the building blocks of FFXIV ARR (Again)? That's something always to consider too.

He doesn't need to stop the current production.
Only thing that needs to change is making the casual aspect equally rewarding and not in terms of "gear" but whatever will please casuals such as vanity, hairstyles, mounts, and so on.
I'm letting it all slide because of the development time PS4, frontlines, and Golden Saucer are using up. Yet what transpired at E3 isn't leaving much for optimism and TGS isn't around the corner to rectify what transpired at E3.

that the most important part of the trouble. all we can do it's point it and hope that for the 3.0 (the expansion) they will change the way they see content. they can already begin by take out most of the one shoot technique and add more deepth in the futur combat.
they can too stop to only see raid as the main activity of the mmorpg and see it like ONE of the most important and add different type of content.
the video game in general had a lot of stuff that was create in the last 20 years... and it's fairly possible to add it to the mmorpg. the question is: will they take the risk to add content that are not "actually" mainstream? i think mostly at raid, pvp arena... they are what every mmorpg give us now as base. and i think it's maybe time to go take idea from different game and add it to the genre.
that the main strenght of the mmorpg, you can add anything! it's not a classical rpg it's more vast and more deep than this! you can add time attack with challenge a la beat'm all. or add place that open gradually like metroid-like game. you can even use the coop game like payday 2, left 4 dead as base for look at idea to add some random in content. all this game have something that can be added into the genre... like many i'm amazed by the work of Yoshida team for save FF14: ARR, but now, i wonder if they are not a bit lost... because they have save the game... and i have the feeling that they don't know how to go over and make the game more grand that we have now.
they had a soo big pressure because of the expectation of all... that now they scared to try... they are human, if they try and mess around, they are scared that the game will fail like the V1. but it's not anymore the V1, they have save the game, now it's time to make it evolve! because it's what the mmorpg means to be... a game that continue to evolve!
ps: i hope to that Yoshida or some Dev, will come and ask us what we think about the game... survey can be a good way to see what work or not!

J'apprécie vraiment d'avoir pris le temps de contribuer à la conversation. J'espère que tous les gens dans les forums Français conviennent. ^^ Also, Sorry, 4 years of French isn't sufficient to really hold a deep conversation like this one. Just the same, it's obvious our friends across the water have the same sentiments. In and of itself it defeats the opinion that "many don't want to change things."
I'd ask if those arguing against this see it now but I already know they can't. It's a 3D rendition of "Animal Farm"

Its sad, so many are selling iLvL 93+ Accounts...
FFXIV has a big Problem in endgame, because it is not fun!

I agree with the OP, there's no two ways about it, mechanics driven content is flawed. When everything is down to gathering 8 people who have patterns memorized, skill at your own role is rendered completely meaningless, the gear you've obtained, of no import.
There ARE ways to make things challenging without relying on such gimmicks, and some of them were outlined in the opening posts. This game would benefit from taking that advice.
Endgame is just fine, the raid content is challenging, people hit a brickwall, some overcome it others don't.
Imo thats how it's suppose to be, I enjoyed the challenge and look forward for the brutal modes. I find the fact funny that some people call it casual when most of them haven't even cleared coil yet.
They just use the excuse "It's so boring and mechanic driven, thats not a challenge it's a design flaw." for me it translates to "It's too hard, I can't deal with mechanics please make it tank and spank."
For some reason many people seem to think that in order for it to be a good game everyone should be able to clear the top tier content...
I haven't seen an MMO that provides challenge without mechanics and I've played a lot.

Mechanics driven fights are fine as long as all the mechanics are fun and well executed and aren't just overconvoluted or thrown in droves for the sake of it, having reached T9 in Second Coil it sure is something figuring stuff out and executing it, but it isn't really that fun, it all just feels too mechanic. The closest comparison is a precision platformer like Super Meat Boy or I wanna be the guy, you have to time everything at the right moment and a small slip by you or someone else will probably mess it all up and make you go back to the very start of the level, as someone who 100% + whatever the extra % in SMB was, it's just as unfun as in there too.
Personally I really like Moogle EX because everything is mostly randomized and there isn't a strict order to things happening aside from phase changes, too bad people rarely do it because the rewards are just a neck accessory most people have by now.

Everything the OP is stating is 100% true in my opinion. 2 months ago when I left FF14 over my frustrations with the Atma drop rate, when I came back 2.5 weeks ago, my entire FC completely left and I am talking about over 70 active players with 3 active coil groups. For what I was told, most people left because of boredom of the game and still there are players who feel like nothing is going on? I do not want to name drop here, but WoW is coming with another expansion in less than 5 months from now plus Wildstar just came out and also ESO.....and people are still defending the state of the game as it is right now? Lots of players have a abundance of choices in regards to other games and when someone well informed like the OP makes obvious and truthful statements you still consider nothing is wrong? That is your right.....it does not mean it is correct!
