Why is jumping always associated with WoW?

A real Zelda never had a jump button.
A real Final Fantasy never had a jump button.

Yoshi is a WoW fan and wants to turn FFXIV into a succesfull MMORPG. So he copies what he needs.
Maybe he doesn't know that this is a mistake. WoW players will like the jump function - but they leave in no time.

I'm okay if this jump function is about a half meter high. But the developers are asian, so the jumps will be 10 meters.

If you mean swim, where in the world are you going to swim? If you really are hoping to get something like this then you better wait for another MMORPG. People are not going to wait 10 more years they need to redesign the game for (jumping), climbing and swimming.
