My first look at the new monk gears didn't excite me too much.. I see loss of det and gain in skill speed, but I haven't done any thorough analysis yet, just lookin at pieces I'd like to upgrade first.

Do you guys apply demolish in your first set of the rotation for a non-pb opener or 2nd? I'm watching a monk youtuber and he does demolish at the 2nd set such as:
ToD>bootshine>twin>snap>dragonkick>true>demolish
not sure if that is a loss of dps or not?
A friend of mine recently said to do DK-TS-SP-BS-True Strike-SP-BS-True Strike-Demo-ToD as my sustained rotation. Does this hold any water? I've found myself unable to do bootshine for two cycles in a row without dk falling off.
This doesn't hold any water at all and is a major dps loss, not only because of dk falling off but twin snakes falling off aswell.

Thanks, I thought so.

I have some issues with that rotation but you cant say it doesn't hold any water at all. Getting 2 true strikes in after ever twin snakes is a dps gain and conserves a bit of tp per rotation. It just depends on where it falls off. For me twin snakes falls off when im applying twin snakes. A 10% loss on the weakest move we have but the addition of an extra 190 potency attack and plus 10 tp saved which adds up in long fights
You get more damage by getting 2 true with 10% buff plus 1 twin without 10% buff, vs rotating true and twin every rotation 2 keep the buff up.
Im not so sure about dragon kick falling off.
1. In multi monk parties it's best to keep it up
2. Although not guaranteed, dragon kick can crit making it just as strong as bootshine.
You can actually lose dps letting dk fall off.
With more skill speed I'd like to see if I can keep them both up all the time as that would be an even larger dps increase (assuming no other stats have to be cut to reach it)

After a while of playing monk i noticed something strange when i used PB i could sometimes fit in 3 GL and DK and TS but sometimes i couldnt. till i figured it out. I dont know if this is in the forums already but here is the perfect opening.
Shoulder tackle > ToD. (wait for you GCD to almost refresh then pop) > PB > Demo > Snap > Snap > DK > TS fitting in your CD/non-GCD where you see fit allowing you to have GL3 and DK and TS up for PB.
this is not perfect lol. =\After a while of playing monk i noticed something strange when i used PB i could sometimes fit in 3 GL and DK and TS but sometimes i couldnt. till i figured it out. I dont know if this is in the forums already but here is the perfect opening.

That's where the problem is, I noticed the same thing, sometimes could get TS off sometimes not, just .25 sec delay on popping PB after ToD makes the difference. After a while of playing monk i noticed something strange when i used PB i could sometimes fit in 3 GL and DK and TS but sometimes i couldnt. till i figured it out. Using touch of death after your opener makes it outscale the other after 4 ticks
Touch of death is a 25 potency elementless DoT that lasts for 30 seconds giving it between 9-10 ticks. DoT Damage is not modified by Dragon kick.
Note that damage buffs are multiplicative.
Applying ToD before having your buffs(assuming just fists of fire) up would give it a potency of 21 and a DoT potency of 26.25.
Applying ToD after the opener will give it a potency of 35.49 and a DoT potency of 40.33
Applying Touch of death at the start will give about 3 ticks meaning you will get a total of 21+26.25*3 = 99.75 potency before the other ToD
Before opener = 99.75>126>152.25>178.5>204.75>231>257.25
After opener = 35.49>75.82>116.15>156.48>196.81>237.14>277.47
