People are free to choose what matters to them, but I don't think putting "Slays a really mean dragon in a video game most people haven't heard of" on your resume is going to be doing you any favors. If you want to determine your self worth by what you accomplish here, hey that's cool, and I won't stop you, but keep in mind that most people aren't going to see it as anything more than a frivolous time expenditure.

I don't think anyone here has claimed they define their worth as a person or in anything outside of the game by something they've done in the game. But things people achieve in games have value and meaning within the context of the game and in some cases it can even somehow extend to their lives outside of it. Personally, I don't usually spend my time on things that aren't important to me in some way. I care about my marriage, my family, my friends, my career, my sports, my games and my other hobbies. I don't define my self worth based on any of those things alone but they're all part of who I am. And I have been asked of my gaming experience in job interviews when I was looking for work.

You too care at least enough to spend your time reading these posts and replying. But I don't think that means you're defining yourself based on that. We're here to discuss the game we play and its features, not bring up things that matter to us the most in our lives.

(To be fair, even though it hasn't netted me my current carreer directly, MMO gaming has definitely improved my personal life as well in some points. But that's something waaaay off-topic.)

You realize this link, or similar, has been posted a dozen times already in the forums and yet people still cry about it. Not that I'm complaining, since watching them cry gives me something to do while waiting on the maintenance to finish, but most of these people are here to cry, not to read so I doubt you posting the link will change anything, lol. Don't worry kids, your t2 enrage method will be up and running again shortly, then you can go back to speeding through t2 for your free loot. It's like watching a bunch of kindergardeners, offer them candy and they're so happy, but then you tell them they have to earn the candy and it's like someone set off the sprinklers, tears everywhere.

The reason more people cry about wanting it removed than who cry about wanting it is because it's there. Crying about wanting something that you already have would be plain stupid and simply prove that you're not old enough to play this game. I'm currently enjoying the large number of people crying at the loss of their free ride through t2, not at the people who are rejoicing in the loss.
