    Boss practice rooms

I have a feeling a lot of folks won't like this idea but here goes...

For Titan HM I have had plenty of practice for the first few phases, but I always always always die on the last phase because of the bombs. I believe if I had more practice, I could handle it, but how do you practice the last phase without a group that can consistently get there (not to mention a group who doesn't expect you to have already had said practice)?

It'd be nice to instance into a training room of sorts that will throw things at you exactly the way the boss would during a selected phase, and repeats. This way you can practice for it, and be ready when the real fight comes.

I wish I could practice coil on my non primary jobs, without it counting as my runs for the week, even if it didnt reward gear... at least i can in 2.2...

I made a similiar suggestion some time ago but it didn't catch that much interest: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-learning-mode

Good luck with your attempt. I'd still love to have a kind of training room.

I think a lot of people would, but you're likely to receive a response that states such a useful tool just trivializes encounters.

This was a feature in a chinese/Korean MMO i played previously called Dragon Nest.

They had a practice mode for every dungeon, even their coil equivalent (green, desert dragon nests) had a practice mode.
But honestly there's very little point to it, you can always create a PF training party in ARR.

If you can practice the boss then why would there be any point in doing the boss except as a loot piñata. Part of doing any encounter is getting it wrong and then improving and scoring that kill. If you've already mastered the boss then where's the fun.

This is true in every aspect, but it'd be much more appealing if you didn't get verbally assaulted and/or kicked for being wrong. As stated before OP you're better off using post finder to create a practice run.

I personally would rather get it wrong in the practice room when it's just me, and then get it right when I am in a group who are counting on one another for success. But hey if you actually enjoy wiping on a boss, I won't judge. I realize that one person's idea of fun may not match up with mine.

For now I will go with the Party Finder idea, but I would still like to go alone into a practice room and learn the phases. That way if I only want to focus on practicing for the last phase, I can choose that one and jump in.

@Lumiin: I appreciate the offer. I will try to remember that next time I log in and give you a shout. Thanks

If it's just you solo you're still not learning the fight and here's why: You still have to deal with 7 other people who may or may not know the fight and will maybe make mistakes. People could die before the heart, tanks could drop from Mountain Buster because of bad healers or not rotating cooldowns, or people will drop from tumults because of low HP. If you practice the actual boss with a full party, if they're all in good attitude then you can talk over mistakes, correct them and maybe eventually win, which is something a practice room can't give.
A practice room won't help me with T5 during Divebomb/snake stages because I have to rely on my 7 other teammates getting to the same point alive and DPSing the right targets and dodging Divebombs. A solo practice room can't simulate the AI that is the human brain behind the computer

I think you're missing my point, or over-thinking it because the things you mentioned would have no impact on what I am imagining. Here's why: people could die before the heart (this is true, and when we do get past the heart I'll be ready because I've been practicing for it). Tanks could drop from Mountain Buster (this is true, but when we get to the bombs I'll be ready because I've been practicing for it). I described it as a training room to practice avoiding a boss's abilities, not learn how to tank or heal. Perhaps other training rooms could be designed for those.

Think of it like this: You're on a baseball team. You have practice with your team to prepare for an actual game against another team so that you're conditioned for it. But outside of that, it's wise to practice without your team, things such as catching and hitting, running the bases, etc. You don't need your team for that. At most, you need one other person. It may not prepare you 100% for the main event in its entirety, but at least you will be more conditioned for certain aspects of it.
