Olympic games event- why not?

Greetings. There are some standard events in every mmorpg and in this game too. Today starts Olympic Games in Sochi (Russia). Why developers didnt make any event connected with this awesome sport holiday? Maybe it is not to late create some? Thank you

They can always make a FATE where you can farm x items and trade them for stuff, like goggles, etc.

Can be heald in coerthas. But it's too late for that now.

They're trying to turn it into something it's not. Don't reply to them.

I think this is a great idea, but it should be filled with fun little mini games. Perhaps load up something onto the duty finder server, and allow people to queue up for the game with party members or just random strangers to compete against each other, or maybe some games where you team up together.

Well there is the Gold Saucer coming sometime in the future, which will be featuring minigames to play, but whether you can actually play against other players isn't known. Until then, there's always PvP which is kind of like a competition (even if it is fighting).

The spirit of the games THIS year is ruined by the atmosphere of where it is held.
I have no problem with Olympic mini-sport events in FFXIV, and it would have nothing to do with Russia so thats a bigger plus!

Of course many of you are right, FFXIV and the Olympic games themselves have nothing to do with gays. However, any informed person knows of the atrocities targeting the LGBT community in that country. That IS an issue, i don't care what your sexuality is.

So, YES to FFXIV olympic events! No to Sochi 2014!
