Yeah I honestly think that is realistic. It's exactly what they should have done with Coerthas and MorDhona. 1-20 in either of the 3 starting areas and then 20-30-40-50 in either coerthas or mordhona. Would have made 100x more sense than what we have atm lol.

either way it seems to just come down to size tbh. The zone in FFXI were big, but no so big and not so over used that you just got utterly sick of them (though bringing as many sub jobs through a place like the dunes might wear you out on them, but its still not a bad zone in any way) All in all id much rather 1/3 of the zone size with more variety then whats really the same thing repeated to death. Imagine if a couple years from now and you on your 5+ job and you just end up doing the same tiresome leves through the same few oversized zones...man that would make my head explode. The only saving grace is anima and being able to skip over running to it....and still it barely helps.
Either give us giant zones that transition to new types of areas ex: from uldah to the boat, the closer you get to it, the more green and water you see, mini oasis pop up more and more, palm tress start coming in..ect
or make the zones much smaller and gives us a bunch. The only other game i remember that had a MASSIVE seamless world was Vanguard...and that didnt end up working out so well.

I'm for any change, really. They don't have to redo the terrain, but at least provide us with different ambient effects in different sub zones. By that, I mean the white noise as well as the music, and the lighting can change (think about how it changes in a single zone for day or night or purple weather in MorDhana etc). Then, varying mobs and structures and/or ground clutter so that they are specific to that specific area. And if this crazy engine can handle it, the actual ground textures.

That's the thing! Once open beta started, and the whole world was open to us for the first time, I thought Thanalan, La Noscea, and Black Shroud were 1-30 zones, and Coerthas and Mor Dhona were 30-50 zones.
That would've been great if it were true.
Would have been better, but not great really. Would have a better progression for sure, but the world would still be as bland and lifeless as it is right now. Thanalan, BS and La Noscea are too big for their own good, even more it they were 1-30 unless they make sub-zones within them that are diversed and full of life, maybe if they have 3-5 sub-zones, there could be choices to the player as to where to go at any rank, so there would be progression, diversity, and some freedom all at the same time. And then repeat this for 30-50 in Coertas and Mor Dhona.
^ Mack has to right of it. No one asked to be funneled or directed from one area to the other. We ask that each sub-zone to be different from each other with different graphics/design/music so that you feel like you progress through different area. Since the zones are really big, they can design each starter big zone like thanalan to be from rank 1 to 30, but since Thanalan could easily be at the minimum 5 sub-zones, that would mean we could have more than 1 sub-zone for lets say rank 10-15, giving the player a choice of where to go (assuming that the design is well done and that if there are 2 areas for rank 10-15 that both of them are as rewarding so that there is actually a choice to do).

I think im going to say it now...we arent getting any response at this point. After it being up over a week, having this massive amount of pages/replys/likes and still nothing.....yah might as well call it quits.

If we quit giving our honest open constructive feedback then we may aswell hang our boots up and go to the pub.
They asked for our opinions, they'll get them, If they like the responses or not. I think this thread has been one of the most sincere troll-less joint agreements I've seen since the lodestone came up.
They will have 100% read and passed this thread to yoshi, no doubt about it.

I was just thinking after posting reply on Japanese thread about guild leve's but say SE does keep the current large maps (hopefully they fix it...) but adding location/area names/district?? like you're in La Noscea, they already north, east, west and stuff but I mean like... specific names of the area adding landmarks something different just for that area so it stands out.
And having each camps watching over that district, you help X amount of leves in that camp, you get special bonuses in that area, could be like lower anima cost (not too exciting), exp bonuses (I really don't care), or changes to the actual camp only you or others with same stats get to see. What I mean is say you did 10 leve's at camp Bearded Rock (that right?) or Blood shore? (on JP client here)
- 10 leve's completed - You see more NPC's now, one new tent
- 20 leve's completed - You see kids playing, makes you feel like the area got little bit safer
- 30 leve's completed - You see store NPC open up, more items sold, chocobo rentals starts in area.
- 40 leve's completed - more NPC's come to camp, looks more lively and looks like its safe now - new mini quests open up from new NPC's arrived which awards you some items, gil, side story explaining history of that area.
I hope you get the point... I know in FFXI they had NPC where only people cleared certain quests can see... I think there was... don't remember been a while lol anyways I'm sure this can be added onto... and would make you WANT to do quests in those camps to see what changes the camps go through + you can learn history/story about how that areas name became that name.
Hell if I was dev I would also add like mini garden where you do gardening, or feed chocobo's there. New NPC gives you new locations for fishing/mining spots that wasn't available before which has more rare fish/ore for that area/location. Something that will keep players want to get that camp expanded. + I know some loves to just get accomplishments, trophy w/e in games so adding those once you complete the camps etc, that alone might keep players from staying in FFXIV... (No didn't forget gardening... you get to do gardening at the camp, you rather keep chopping trees, looking through shrubs? And don't bring up saying aww fishing and mining only gets new spots doing same stuff... just need to make the fishing/mining little bit different so it has meaning + fun to do it. Didn't you want to fish rusted bucket in new spot?)
It's kind of like the FFXI when your country owns that region you get to buy items from that area in the city but being able to see the changes + get the items from the actual camps.
At least this will add some changes to the camps imo. and if this type of system ever gets implements I hope they don't f'ing copy the same tents, camp to other camps... that will just kill it again with copy/paste crap... and for god sakes... makes the NPC's walk, run... not stand still in position doing motions... they look nice but after a while it looks dead/ornament at least make it more lively...
