I've had this problem lately... Ordered a new router since the current one is randomly rebooting every hour or two. I don't want to join a party because they're not going to wait 15 minutes for me to log back in.
If you are experiencing dropouts even after replacing your router, contact your Internet Service Provider's Technical Support department. Tech-savvy as we all are, there are things they can look into in the back end which can assist you in fixing any internet connectivity issues. For example, they can usually run searches on your connections to the DSLAM and look at the meaning of internal error codes not visible to the public. I should know - I work for one.
That's general advice for everyone. Less drop-outs = less having to worry about this in the first place, silly as it may be.
