    Ya I had a friend that was new and was having a lot of trouble dieing in his class quest for WAR(he was on WIFI), lv 30 i think it was. Hes very new to mmos, and was having issues with AoEs. He came over, so I could show him a thing or two. And during that process, I had him try the quest out of curiosity, and he found it was easy cheese on my connection. It appears, which has been said hundreds of times by now, its a issue that starts at the servers, and any minor issues along the way to the client, just compounds it. So having everything perfect on your end, reduces a lot of the chances of you having trouble, although it won't prevent issues. Some peeps have more issues in between them and server then others. But having your side the best it can be, I.E. 10mb connection or so, will help. Wifi unfortunately is not very fast. It "should" be fast enough to game though. But even if ya were playing a FPS, youd want the best connection you could get. Wifi just bottle necks things for gamers. Speed > Convenience, and until we get that wireless power tech that's been sneaking around behind closed doors, its not really that convenient anyhow, sense we still got wires everywhere due to computers.

    Generally you have to be moving in the first place or have sprint effect up to dodge alot of the red circle effects. Having any delay before move will often get you killed.

    As a healer i generally cast move cast move. As a bard or melee you can move all the time while dpsing. Smn can move alot of the time since they have quite a few instant casts. Blm are unfortunate that they have lots of cast times. But they can cast move too.

    All bosses have a set pattern that does not deviate ever. Just learn that pattern , have focus target up and premptively move.

    Of course it can. If there's a bug that only hits nVidia users, the game is broken for that group of players. If the game doesn't live up to its stated minimum requirements, it's broken. If the game doesn't compensate/tolerate realistic levels of lag for the markets it's released in, it's broken for those markets.

    Just because a given variable is not under SE's control does not mean that variable is not, at least partially, SE's problem.

    If the problem is on your end then don't count on SE fixing it. There's nothing in FFXIV client that compensates for bad latency.

    Some things to check:
    - If it's video performance related, try reducing graphic settings.
    - Connect directly to your modem to see if you have same issue.
    - Check your ping -t to the server, make sure you're not losing packets. If there's packet loss contact your ISP.
    - Some ISP throttle FFXIV, post your ISP and location on this thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ttling/page149 and just hope SE contacts your ISP.

    Topic: You take damage based on your location when the casting bar finishes, not when the animation plays and the damage numbers appear. Also lag and latency issues, both related and unrelated to the issue linked above can shrink the amount of time you have to get out.
