    Client/Server discrepency, maybe?

I'm having this strange bug/glitch/issue where the server seems to think I'm standing in one place, when my client shows me in another. From the viewpoint of other players, my character is simply standing in one spot and doing nothing, when in actuality I am running all over the place and trying to attack/heal/use items/etc.

This happens every hour or two, and I don't even realize it's happened until I try to cast a spell and it doesn't have any effect after the animation, or when I try to click on an aetheryte shard or quest item and I get a "too far away" message. Also, I have tried running out of the map/zone, and get the error message "unable to leave the area". The only way the issue seems to get fixed (temporarily) is when I get killed my a mob and respawn at a crystal, or after I log out of the game and back in. Unforunately, this issue happens again an hour or two later.

This problem only started occurring two nights ago when I upgraded my video card from an Nvidia GT 430 to an Nvidia GTX 760, and turned up my graphics settings from "standard (desktop)" to "maximum". Since then, I've tried to restart the client, return to the previous graphics settings, reset my modem/router, and restart my pc. So far nothing has permanently resolved the issue.

If someone could please help me get this fixed, I would greatly appreciate it. Not only is it ridiculously annoying, but the last thing I need is for it to happen when I'm the healer during a dungeon boss fight and find myself suddenly unable to heal my party members, or something like that.

    Thank you.

EDIT1: Tried updating my video card drivers, but that didn't help either. I really think it's some kind of connection issue, like the server and my client get out of sync or something....

EDIT2: The Return and Teleport doesn't appear to work either, unless the place I'm returning or teleporting to is in the SAME zone (ie. Gridania aetheryte is home point and I use Return while IN Gridania.

Oh! I found someone else who experienced the same issue as I am having, and probably explained it better: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...n-not-updating

Unfortunately, it got no response as to how to fix it or anything, and naturally, it was deemed "resolved" today.... Looks like I'm not going to get any more help than that person did.

Another update: This glitch (or whatever it is) happens every 60 minutes exactly. I've been writing down the times: 7:43pm, 8:43pm, 9:43pm, and now most recently at 10:43pm. This has to be a major piece of information towards figuring out what is causing the problem, and how to fix it....

EDIT: Even after being logged out of the game overnight, this issue still occurs every hour at the :43 minute mark.

Does your router or your ISP do something strange to your connection?
Or got any program that runs every hour?

I'm not aware of any change with my router or connection at all. And I don't have a program that runs every hour either. I even tried closing as many applications as possible to see if one of them was causing the issue. This was fairly easy to do, because I only just recently built this PC with a fresh copy of Windows 8 (updated to 8.1), and I haven't installed many programs yet.

This morning I decided to remove the new GTX 760 and put my old GT 430 back in. It seemed to play FFXIV with no problem. And after reinstalling the GTX 760 again, it seemed that everything was magically working as it should. Soon after, however, I got the 90000 error for the first time ever at about 9:06am. Then at about 9:52am I once again had the same problem as in my original post. If I were in Vegas right now I would bet money that this will occur again at 10:52am, and every hour after.

As you can see, the time of this occurrance has changed from 43 minutes into the hour to 52 minutes into the hour. The only cause for this change that I can think of would be due to the switching of graphics cards. Perhaps the change in time coincides with the time I reinstalled the GTX 760? Which makes me wonder if the graphics card is really issue here.

It just doesn't make sense to me though. Visually, the graphics card appears to be working amazingly, and nothing seems wrong with my client.... To me, it's just the server that is failing to update my position or recognize when I'm using abilities, etc. I can't understand why this happens exactly every hour though, or why it does it with my new graphics card and not my old one... SO frustrating.

I guess I'm just really dumb when it comes to this stuff.

Did you try updating the graphic drivers? If it's card related maybe something in them is conflicting for some odd reason.

Yep... I tried to update the drivers, and even tried rolling back the drivers when that didn't work. I'm running out of ideas, and running out of time to send it back to get a new one. To be honest, I'm not really sure anything is actually wrong with the card, but if I send it back and get another and it does the exact same thing, then at least that's one more thing we can check off the list.

Can you check your router? Somewhere, if it's getting its IP by DHCP by your ISP, there should be "Lease time" or something similar. Can you check if it's set at 1 hour and if you can change it? Do not confuse it with the DHCP used for your PCs. It's possible that your ISP is changing your IP and messing with the connection.
Another thing you can try is to set a static IP on your PC. In a similar way it's possible that your router is changing your PC's IP.

About it working with 430, it might just have been a coincidence. It's hard to believe that a graphic card would mess with networking.

probably a long shot, but do you have anything running that uses distributed computing (Folding @ Home, SETI @ Home, Prime95, etc.--things that can tap into CUDA periodically to aid scientific research around the globe)?

It's a brand new PC basically, with a fresh copy of Windows 8 (and updated to 8.1)... not much else on it except Steam, Chrome, and FFXIV. I had a few more things on it before, but I just did a format and fresh install of everything to see if it helped, but I still have the same issue every hour while in-game. :\

I appreciate that you guys are trying to help and throwing out suggestions though, so thanks!
