Unable to talk to Knerl to complete Dressed to Deceive

I have already raised this issue once today and it was moved to the "Working as intended" sub-forum. (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...sed-to-Deceive) The moderator response was to start another thread if this was still a concern. Beyond the fact that the response did not address the bug report at all, this is an incredibly inefficient and frustrating way to deal with your customers.

Regardless of the poor service and generic response, in the interests of having this moved along to someone who actually will do something about it I followed the instructions of the previous moderator. Reading wiki sites, which mention nothing differentiating Knerl from the other NPC's in the quest... he is supposed to respond to your interaction in the same way as the other 4 do while using the appropriate clothing items. Speaking to other players about the issue has yielded this screenshot of several players at once experiencing the same issue:



Therefor, since the instructions from the previous thread have been followed and the issue is still an issue, can you please take a proper look at the bug below, actually check the NPC and the related quest? It is a main story quest that is not completable and it is impeding many players ability to carry on progressing.

In-game time: Server time 5:14pm, Eorzia time 11:54am
Area and coordinates: Eastern Thanalan . Camp Drybone, X14, Y24
Steps:
1. Accept Dressed to Deceive quest
2. Equip Weathered Shepherd's Tunic and Weathered Shepherd's Slops
3. Talk to 4 NPC's
4. Attempt to talk to 5th NPC (Knerl) to complete this part of the quest, but Knerl does not respond when right clicked. Skills on hotbar briefly dim as if a chat dialogue box will appear over them, but then return to normal and the quest progress stays at 4/5.

I've tried logging out and back in, and it appears as if this bug is affecting many people because there are several others standing around me emoting at Knerl in their Weathered Shepherd's gear also unable to complete the quest...

Ditto... I have been having the same issue since last night and received the same response when I posted a report on the forums... it would be nice to actually complete the quest as I need to do so in order to progress in the game. I talked to some friends and they said that it shouldn't be any different I should be able to just talk to him like the others

I'm having the same issue. I'd like to continue the main story questline, but I can't because of this. There have been people standing around this NPC all day, unable to continue the quest.

I've sent an in-game ticket but have so far yet to receive a reply.


EDIT: So it seems both Khayoss and Redeyes6 have brought this issue to the forums before. Both were told by "Avurach" to "speak with other players" and "visit fansites for answers." That's an unacceptable level of incompetence. The very least you could do is say "we are looking into the issue." You don't just tell someone with an ongoing bug to "talk to someone else" and then close their thread. This isnt an issue of not knowing where to go or what to do. It's an issue of the game not working as intended. Talking to another player will fix nothing. As it stands, those of us affected by this bug are unable to continue the main storyline of the game. We cannot progress, we cannot join Grand Companies, and we cannot obtain our mounts. Please, someone--anyone--just acknowledge that you understand what our issue is and reassure us that someone is looking into it.
