But on everything customer support related, that's a fact no one denies in the gaming industry, neither insiders nor customers.
Actually, that's a reason people often cite when they say why they stuck with WoW for so long, or came back so often.
It does matter, how you treat your paying customers when they have issues does matter. That's probably why we also attribute to Blizzard the very notion of "MMORPG's as a service": to everyone's benefit —theirs and their customers'— they raised the quality bar much higher than any other company out there.
SE, on the other hand…![]()

I know Yoshi-P cited this notion of service, hinting that he probably gets it, somehow; even if, evidently, this company is still awfully clueless about it regarding CS.

I rarely even check General Discussion cause most of the time it's a waste, but this needs to be adressed for sure. My internet connection is totally fine. MY ISP is one of the most expensive but also most reliable ones in Germany, which is the reason I don't mind spending more money on it. But I have to use the work arounds aka start moving before the skill starts or right the moment it starts to get out and not get hit for sure. Sometimes it works when I move out when it shows up on my screen, but it's not 100% and that shouldn't be the case. It's the same reason why casts that you do yourself still go through when you start moving at 80/85% cast-time...cause of the delayed response of the server...this is just poor coding/programming.
I do fine as it is right now, doesn't change that it annoys me and shouldn't be like this. I even got to the point where I consider paying for a latency program/ping improveming 3rd PT tool like WTFast or Battleping...
Been there, done that. Don't raise your hopes too high if your ISP is already fine.

Still no developer response? Fine... I just cancelled my auto-renew, we'll see if SE cares to address the issue in the next few weeks, or if I'm going to spend more quality time with Disgaea D2.
Mine just ran out as well. Or rather, it will in some hours. The condition for me to come back is them making a statement about what they plan to (not) do about it. Like, in the live letter. I like the game, but continuing like this isn't worth the energy spent.
With all the talk about getting back our trust they've been doing since 1.0, they sure quickly forgot some inconvenient promises they made.

Sub cancelled. My heart aches, but there really is no other reply to give.
Sorry, FFXIV. I've officially gone back to WoW. You managed to convince me for multiple months that this issue was actually acceptable and that I should just work around it, but playing that other game for all of ten minutes reminded me that this crap isn't actually standard. This one issue is legitimately game-breaking. And I would hold out hope for you to fix it eventually if you just said "It's on our to-do list, it just might take a long time". I would even respect you marginally more if you just said "We realize that this is a thing but we're not really inclined to fix it, sucks for you". But for you to essentially say "All of the people complaining about this are just crazy and/or bad players, this is obviously a camera zoom issue" is just... I'm sorry. If your heads are that far buried in the sand then I'm sure you won't actually notice the fact that my boyfriend and I have stopped throwing money at you, so I guess it's all good.
You played ARR, yeah? They kept their promises just fine - It's a heavily "standard" themepark MMORPG and gained way more subs than XIV 1.x retained in its 3 year life span, so in all honesty..they did regain trust and keep their promise.
SE's promise at least, Yoshi's promise was to make this a FF game, still waiting for that :\
