Developers almost never answer any hard questions, probably because they're dumber than the fan base they think they're fooling. Despite the fact that no MMORPG has ever solved a problem by pretending it's not there, it's still a standard play used by virtually every MMORPG out there. It's true players in general may demand dubious/crazy/impractical solutions, but players are almost never wrong about the fact that a problem exists. You shouldn't count on your players to come up with solutions to the game's problem, but they're definitely very good at identifying them.
