I agree with Xanj tbh. It is doable to kill titan and dodge aso but at times it's acting up something fierce. Like at some point i saw the stones explode in front i run there only to still get hit by the back stones when im already at titans feet on the other side. Stuff like that is very hard to predict and it is a known issue that since they only have servers in what Canada it's very far and causes problems at times. You can also see a distinct difference between doing titan not on prime time and on prime time.

To people that claim that they don't notice the 0.3s delay programed into the servers. Cast a spell, then move and see how long until it is interrupted.

You should be safe from a enemy move if you are out before the casting ends. You should not have to be outside a second or so earlier. It's just bad programming that they haven't taken into consideration the latency people suffers from. All other games try their best to not have latency being an issue.

The lag is a legit issue for some players. Don't know about the OP.

the situation like in AK monday, at Demon Wall where after got hit by rebel but you dont see your char got push back and then you begin to move to the side and then sudden get push off the wall, that is lag (can prevent by not move for a while before move to side again but it is not in the topic)

and the situation where you stand in center of WoTL and begin to move after see the plume under your feet and got hit after your char is out of plume, it is not lag - or it is lag but everyone have that issue, not just 1 or 2 persons but many so I no longer conside it as lag

    my €0.02:

I can be out of Titan's plumes for .5s and still get hit by them. The only way I got my BLM relic was by moving before either the cast bar or the animation appeared. Had to memorize the rotation, count to two (and a bit) after his last ability and then move.

Is it manageable? sure. Should I have to do this? no.

    My connection is fine btw.

To the guys having connection troubles do a tracert to check if there are any problems on the route between you and the game server and if you see any contact your ISP with the log.
I had constant 300-400 ms to the game sever because I had some routing problems after I contacted my ISP the issue was solved within a day and now I have constant 150ms and really no problem dodging titan's stuff.
Before the pitchforks come out yes I know my solution isn't applicable to everyone here.

I doubt it is actually an issue on SE's end. We always forget to fault ourselves or our equipment when stuff doesn't work properly. For example I, and some of my co-workers/classmates, always forget our password or have issues with some type of software. When I call IT to assistance I end up saying something to the extend of "There must be something wrong with your system because I just reset my password last week" or "My computer only has problems with your software". When in fact I most likely forgot my password and didn't write the correct one down in my planner and my computer isn't up to par/missing the required software components to run the software properly. There are so many variables to take into account for your issue there is no way to prove the blame falls solely on SE. Now as for their attitudes I find it refreshing. I think people have become to accustom to the "Customer is always right" mentality. Tact can only go so far.

Yeah cause a game = memorizing patterns and reacting before things happen.

I totally prefer to play something that isnt a game then, you know those fun things in which things that pop on screen require just my fast reaction and create epic dodge moments.

As for the whole /shades-Theres no lag* mentality, sure its admirable to defend your GAME and CONTENT (you know, the INTENTED stuff), NOT the coding issues, server lags, queues etc, thats just a one way ticket to lose your playerbase and relaunch once more.

I really have mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand, I almost never get hit by WotL in Titan unless I space out and forget it's coming. This means I need to memorize every ability he has. This is easy, and does take some skill, because you need to know what's coming ahead of time. Once people memorize when weights are coming and get out of the mentality that they have to wait to see it before they move, the fight becomes 10x easier. Before everyone started learning the pattern, I used to announce when weights were coming on voice chat so people could move ahead of time.

Why is this necessary? Because there is lag and obvious positioning issues. I don't complain about it because EVERY move is predictable and you can plan for it ahead of time. Even Coil is predictable for the group. ADS has a rotation that never changes, so even if you are lagging in Coil (it's notoriously laggy in there), you can move when you know you need to move and never get hit.

Moving ahead of time is a work-around, not a fix. We can still beat these fights, and I am proud to say I can, but I do not believe I am beating it 'as intended'. However, I do believe that the fights were given PREDICTABLE patterns to cater to people who ARE lagging.

A good example of the differences between ARR and 1.0 would be Ifrit Extreme. There was a loose pattern as far as when certain abilities MIGHT come, but it was not completely predictable. If you were lagging and Ifrit decided to dash when you were in a bad spot, you were dead. Your teammates would see your body slide across the floor in a notoriously unfair fashion. Many people could not beat this fight SIMPLY because of lag. Lots of people died -- people popped the Grand Company raises like they were candy in this fight.

Square Enix's response to this problem in ARR is to introduce incredibly predictable fights... or at least, predictable when it matters (for the whole group). It works, but a lot of players are STILL playing like they should be able to see something and THEN move. This isn't going to work, unfortunately, even though it works really well in other MMOs. The FFXIV engine just isn't optimized for it. I could give the OP a number of ways to 'work around' the positioning issues... such as using an ability the second you are out of an AoE (it force-updates your positioning), but I do think the positioning issues in this game should be addressed if fights with UNPREDICTABLE rotations (such as extreme version primals) are to be released... and don't even get me started on how bad PvP might be if this 'natural position lag' stays. =/

P.S. For people who are avoiding weights without moving ahead of time... good for you, and I mean that sincerely. I am happy that you can wait until you see them because it means your game is updating faster. Whether it be ISP lag, hardware lag, or just natural latency from being far away... a lot of people are having this issue. Not just a few people. A lot. The game needs to be accessible for everyone, and other MMOs manage to pull this off. I hope the FFXIV servers are optimized at some point... I know reworking them right now isn't top on the list since they have to push out more content, but I do hope it's addressed eventually.

Main problem is people calling it lag even if it is not about lag but about how the position checks work
