    Chane Audio Device

There is no option in game to change the audio device for PC users.

This issue a major issue because if you're in game you have to completely exit the game and change the audio manually within Windows. If you change the audio within Windows while the game is open, the sound output won't change, it'll just go silent.

For people who use headsets it's a major pain if you forget to change the audio before launching the game. Occasionally you'll be in game listening in on speakers and occasionally you might find yourself needing the mic to join a chat server and you end up having to log out and exit in order to do so.

This isn't really a bug per say, but the feedback forum is for website feedback only so there really is no proper place for this.

I don't have a problem switching from speakers to headset in game. The thing that comes to my mind would be update your audio driver and see if that helps.

If that doesn't work I suggest posting your dxdiag (found by going to start menu > search for 'run' > type dxdiag > save all information [as a txt file] then copy/paste that)

What type of headset do you use? USB? Headset jack?

Most games have an option within the game which lets you chose which audio device you want to use.

I use a USB, and even if I leave it plugged in and switch the audio it wont switch. Here's what I'm doing:

    - Plug in headset
    - Right-click sound in the system tray and choose Playback devices
    - Under Playback, the default tab, choose my headset and click the Set Default option
    - When I'm done I go back into the settings and choose my Speakers and set it back to default

Are you doing it another way?

Ah, I'm using the headset jack and windows automatically switches the device for me when it detects the new device is plugged in. Either way, I'd look into updating your audio driver and trying again. Unless it is up to date. Then posting your dxdaig would be for the best.

Thought so, the headset jack isn't Windows, it's the hardware. If the headset jack is on your speakers, the speakers does the switching. If the headset jack is on the tower, the motherboard does the switching.

I'm using a 7.1 headset so it requires USB power. That's why games include the option within the game as it allows switching between any audio device and does the work Windows normally does.

Thanks for the help though. I'm hoping more people use USB headsets chime in so that Square-Enix will implement this feature.
