    [dev1015] EXP/SP Chains

    This is a suggestion for the introduction of an battle chaining system similar to FFXI and FFXII.

    Rather than the simply chaining mob kills together like FFXI, or killing the same type of mob like FFXII, I would like to propose a system that is a bit of a hybrid and will go a long way to creating goal-oriented party play/grinding.

    Ideally, I think many players would enjoy a chaining system that branches off at certain benchmarks and gives you some randomized goals and corresponding rewards as you go forward...

    For instance:

    Chain-01: Defeat 10 Even match or higher mobs in 5 min [5% EXP Bonus]
    Chain-02: (Option A) Defeat 5 IT mobs in 5 min [8% EXP bonus]
    Chain-02: (Option B) Defeat 4 mobs using Battle regimens in 5 min [8% SP bonus]

    Chain-03: (Option A) Defeat 6 of the same type of mob in 5 min [12% EXP Bonus]
    Chain-03: (Option B) Defeat 4 mobs without using healing skills in 5 min [12% SP Bonus]
    Chain-03: (Option C) Defeat 8 Vilekin in the next 10 min [Gold Treasure Box Drop and 10% EXP and SP bonus]


    And so on...

    I think this would add some fantastic variety to normal party play and would lead players to experience all aspects of combat, as well as fight all kinds of mobs as they play.

    True, but none of them have dev tags. And since I believe this would be a substantial addition to the combat system, I would like to have this specific concept considered by the dev team instead of getting lost in the mix.

    Not just that, but I wouldn't mind getting some feedback from other players on this particular idea as well.

    I think we need some dev response to one of these threads. EXP chains were a very good mechanic in both FF11 & FF12.

    The only reason I see them not implementing it or delaying it would be due to them wanting players to get experience from another source.

    I imagine they intend leves to be the best source of SP, and perhaps they're afraid of improving world SP too much.

    I don't agree with the exact specific of the OP's post, but... there is a problem with progression right now.

    Leves ultimately are too similar and they get boring and repetetive when you can do them 8 times in a 36 hour period. While, world XPing can be even worse if there aren't enough camps/diverse monsters to support this mode of SPing.

    But really there needs to be an explanation on how the devs are planning on designing the level up period of gameplay, so we can then give good feedback.

    maybe read the 50 million other threads about this same topic....

    Spoke with the dev. team about the discussion going on here regarding SP/EXP chains (and your ideas behind them). They wanted me to relay to you that there are plans in place for chains, but the specifics will be looked into once the main battle adjustments have been made.

    Aside from check the other threads... I don't think we need exp chains. Grinding is too quick and easy as it is now. I think the fatigue system should be dropped before they ever consider doing anything that actually makes acquiring exp even faster/easier. :'(

    Actually, all but one of the threads Renta linked had dev tags. Yours does not. Putting "dev1015" in the title does not equate to your post having a dev tag. Dev tags are added at the bottom of the thread, and while you've added some good keywords as tags, none of them are actual dev tags.

    Plus as Fiddle_Sticks mentioned, we've already gotten information back from the dev team regarding the subject, sooo...
