Fleece is over 650 per on the AH now. :( I don't mind farming at all, but the 10+ other level 50's also farming the one spot for fleece makes it tough.
How about a lvl 50 mob that drops fleece? at least then they couldn't be a one shot.

I don't mind farming either but what pisses me off is some people who use bot to pull even before the Karakul's image pops up, at same time I also don't really like how players can set area DOT on said spot before pops. It isn't fair game at all ><
I'm having to deal with this as well. Tried to farm them and people come and jump on the one i'm on while i'm still fighting. People are sooooooo rude. If i see someone on a sheep i just run by, they got it fair so it's all theirs. Wish others would play by the same rules. But people just always look for me me me. They'd make an enemy just to have a chance @ 1-3 fleece or a skin? Seems rather short sighted to me. But this is really making leveling Weaver a real pain. I can't even imagine how much of a pain leather working it....They should have made some kind of hunting class as a 4th gatherer. So you can obtain ALL the skins and whatnot that way as well. So if someone kills an enemy, you can still gather from it.
Lol the amount of KS wars i see on that hill in Coertha amuses me to no end XD. U have people trying VERY VERY hard trying to KS each other. Also once you have a melee vs any range class on this hill its GG for Melee.
Its great love pve competition! If I can get em before another I feel it as a success. Even moreso if I run them off, but likewise I want to be challenged as well so I always welcome people to try and run me off.
You don't even have to use fleece to get weaver to 50... level 30 leve hq handin is 71k exp, and easy to reliably hq with normal mats, even around level 35-40
How about, "Turn on bright lightbulb", they add non themed trash to dungeons that drops crafting crap. Imagine all the dead spots in AK having sheep (You can optionally decide to kill) that drop fleece.
There's 3x turn-in leves that give fleece...lots of it.
What's really amusing on my server is how butt hurt people get as if they own the spot. Someone got so offended, they accused a guilty of mine bottling... Then called in reinforcements to spam him with trade windows so he couldn't cast...
Tip: if you're getting beat at farming, get better at claiming or leave. Don't accuse someone if bottling, then use crazy shady tactics because you suck at pulling.
There are more efficient ways to make money, only people farming this should be the crafters that want it.
E.g. I just spirit bind gear on DD and sell relic materia and farm shards and stay a float and then some.
I dunno why they don't just add more sheep/ fleece spots, I mean what's the point of making the place a griefing spot?
It sure as hell isn't a gold sink so what is the point of this?
100% agree. Sometimes I'm too tired to keep up with the farming competition so I just leave. I'm not sure why people get so upset when another person can farm more efficiently.
This is one thing I miss about having pvp; someone farming mobs I want? Try to kill them first.
Do leves grant fleece as rewards? I got many many stacks of diremite web this way.
they just need to put PVP into this game. Flag it, kill the farmers, take your loot. Win$$
Your solution is intriguing... But the rest of your statement about my attitude is confusing.
Why is it an asinine attitude? Would you be ok with someone whining to you, if you came and started farming the same mob? Them accusing you of bottling? Then calling in 6 guildies (most of which aren't there to tag mobs but to open trade windows so you can't even attempt to tag) to help?
In my opinion, the asinine attitude is being ok with harassing another player who's better at something than you are. It's not cheating to be faster or have a better internet connection. It IS cheating / harassment to use trade windows to keep another legit player from farming.
Some of them are bots though. I know Leviathan has one that farms for Diremite Webs. Guy is there almost 24/7, same spot (stationary), same method claim (auto target nearby). Know how I can tell? You can mass pull mobs to the bot, and it will ALWAYS attack them, even if Diremites are up. It just goes for whatever mob is available to tab target. Haven't been there in a while though, so not sure if it's still there or not.
But yeah, people shouldn't immediately jump the gun on accusations. Again though, there are many bots out there, so it's understandable that people might think of you as one, to an extent.
Anyone who says "claim better" doesn't farm - guaranteed. You can't outclaim someone who teleports to spawns and instantly claims them and get the credit for kill.
As much as I like pvp, an open-world system wouldn't work in FF. The playerbase is largely pve-oriented. They're going to have some sort of pvp in place in the future apparently, but it will probably use special maps for it or it will use an arena/battleground system.
You report those people, I think we were all talking about actual players outfarming each other though. I've farmed Diremite web, Fleece, Snurble stuff, and several different types of skins for leather and haven't come across a teleporting bot yet. Only seen the gathering ones do that. That being said, hopefully SE does something sooner rather than later about all the teleport hacking being done.
There are absolutely bots out there... I have yet to really encounter any, as I'm not huge on farming, but, do they take the time to respond to you if you talk to them?
Bots need to be reported and banned... But taking your farming frustrations out on someone who is a legit player that's just faster than you by stooping to shady means is just as bad as a real bot IMO.
I never seen a bot there. Even so they have a predictable spawn pattern you can move to one. Some people just need to get better at claiming.
This kind of activity really worsen the community as a whole, these ppl that are ks-ing each other are on the same server, & Im sure they'll remember it well. Unfortunately, there's no other way to get those materials efficiently (not just fleece, but a lot more that drop from certain mobs). In the past several days I also had to keep ks-ing ppl 20 lv lower than me for some mat that I need, & I feel really bad each time I run to their bunch of mobs & 1-hit AoE everything, even though Im winning the spot, try imagine their frustration...
Something has to change now if SE still want to create good communities in ARR.
Brd and Smn are very good at claiming in the fleece sheep camp. They are both ranged with instant claim moves and can put circles on the ground where the mobs will spawn for instant claim. Want to claim better play one of those jobs.
Thank you for this. I was just battling for spawns earlier today, got 40+ fleece before i decided to let the others have some spawns. It's dejavu for me because it was the same in 1.0 to begin with. Then they fixed it and now we're back to square one. Diremite webs are also pretty heavily used in weaver crafts and as a result of there being but a few spawns it's pretty heavily camped too.
They've already announced PVP in the Future. However, I'm hoping they make a PVP server so you can do this sort of piss stuff. In everquest when there wasn't PVP you'd train a bunch of high level mobs on to the guys botting and then feign-death or port out. The mob would then agro the bot, killing it and stopping it's activity. Back then, mobs chased forever, and would always run faster than you.
ya there are way too few farming spots in this game, its really quite ridiculous for certain items.
Just a thought, Go kill bats that drop Spoken Blood. My SMN makes about 3 a minute farming them. They sell for 500 gil each, 1-2k for high quality.. Sell those, buy your fleece.
I agree I would prefer if they added a couple more spots to farm them, while yes you can get fleece from certain leves I don't want to waste my leves on that when I use those to lvl my other crafts. My weaver is 50 but geez I need so much fleece for synths, if they added just a couple more spots or at least bring back quest mobs from 1.0 (specific mobs that were for quests only & drop nothing so ppl can do their quests) then I don't think it would be as bad.
So far tho I've had decent luck I always try to communicate with ppl that are their. If someone is there farming I ask how their luck is for HQ and if they are going to be much longer. Haven't come across any jerks yet they've been polite right back ^_^ I also let ppl know who are there for quests that I'm just farming and feel free to kill what I claim.
Only seen bots at snurbles but I had friends come help me claim everything and report them so they left lol.
It is possible for fleece to come up on the triple leve but it is 6 each, it doesn't happen very often. So 18 total thats enough to make 9 threads or 4 cloths. Can't really count on leves for fleece.
