Can you make the use of an item, if so, how?
Thanks in advance.
drag the item onto the bar
I would also like to know if this is possible.
"/item" or "/use" don't work.
bump? does anyone know ... this info would be greatly appreciated.
Can't check, dead PC. type / then press Tab and it'll list all the / commands in auto-translate, if there is a /item then you can use /item (type /?item for the command syntax).
i've already been down this road, it use to be in the game.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-macro-an-item.
you cant do it, combed every inch of the text commands and you simply cant.
Reasons why you would want to.
Add a healing potion to a self healing macro
Add a Vitality potion to the beginning of a self healing macro
add a resistance potion to the end of defensive macro for bosses who use elemental attacks
add a poison/silence/paralyze potion to end of offensive macro
add a specific debuff potion to a defensive macro for boss specific fights that apply poison/silence/paralyze/petrify
add a buff potion to offensive macro such as +intelligence then a group of offensive spells for BLM, as an example
also slightly related, I would love to be able to feed other people and have a macro to do it.
/item "eft tail" <player 1>
/item "eft tail" <player 2>
/item "eft tail" <player 3>
/item "eft tail" <player 4>
would make my cooking class significantly more valuable, i dont understand why i cant feed others.
I thought you could macro a hotbar button? meaning you could make the item use the first action, and then load a different action into that button and just press it.
I'm sure they will add one, or I hope they do ..
How is this trolling?
It should be already time that SE bring a comprehensive game manual on lodestone, inclusive a list of all chat commands (like it was in 1.0 Lodestone and also in the ARR beta forum).
The current game manual is just a "get ready to play" manual.
Sure, we can use the auto-translator to look after /commands, but it don't work with the <..> target options.

Scroll down to "Glossary of text commands." It's got every slash command available, and at the very bottom is a list of all the <..> options.
