How Gil Sellers / Buyers are doing business (SE Please Track and Do Something)

I've seen and heard about the character name "Ez Pay" on multiple servers. Square Enix needs to back track the Retainers and their owners that were selling Allagan xxxx Pieces to Ez Pay and start handing out some bans.

Servers "Ez Pay" that have been confirmed on here.

• Cactaur
• Ultros
• Moogle
• Midgardsormr
• Excalibur
• Hyperion

Just checked on my server(Coeurl) and yeah I see some guy named Ez two buying about 2M worth of silver pieces just today at 12:44 AM Est. Also see some other buyers for absurd prices that cannot be legitimate players.

why sell them for that amount though when you can never convert them into gil for anywhere near that amount?

This doesn't appear to be going on on Balmung, anyway.

These people are obviously buying Gil from Gil Sellers. It's not the point that they won't be able to convert them. They are trying to avoid being detected or punished by SE. Players can play the "dumb card" and say they can't control if someone wants to drastically over pay for an items worth.

And here I was thinking on putting up some of my items for a ridiculous price to save retainers space. Such a relief I hadn't...

There is (was?) apparently an exploit where you could use these, and another item, at a vendor to get 3.33 times the return, rinse, repeat. I never did it, and don't know exactly how it worked, but when i heard about it, i expected waves of bannings, and hey look!

I don't think there's much of a problem listing things for high prices... it's that people (RMT) are buying said overpriced items and millions of Gil are being exchanged.

Completely lost, if their transaction is through market by using over pay, I don't think SE can do any thing to prevent and detect it. Only way is investigate player who has lots of Gil. That is what sE doing right now.

Nah SE is too busy banning players with over 10M gil

It does seem obvious from this that Gillsellers are telling buyers to put up a Allagan piece for the amount of gill the Gil buyer has purchased and
gives them the retainer name so the buyer can pick it up at their leasure. Trouble is by doing this the buyers can play ignorant and say they just saw other people selling at this price, it's not their fault someone paid so much. That makes it difficult for SE to prove it even if it's pretty obviously the case.

I would assume anyone trading allagan currency on the marketplace is either involved with RMT or not very smart. Either way, no real loss to the community if they get banned.
Hell, I bet half the reason they made it where you can sell it was to bait RMT, because why else would anyone be buying/selling these rather than sell to the NPC.

Most likely the RMT site will have you put in the name of the Retainer and the amount to sell it for depending on how much gil you are attempting to buy, as they can choose which retainer to buy from.

Exactly, that is probably how they do it.

Of course, buy gil from the site, put an allagan anything piece for a retarded price and your gill seller buys it from you. It doesn't even have to be only allagan coins. Unless SE makes every single item unsellable on he market, they can do it with anything you can pick up off of the vendor. something as simple as copper ore can be used to exchange gil this way. Allagan coins are probably used because no right minded person would bother searching for those to buy, as they are just vendor trash.

Gotta question why SE bothered making vendor trash like these coins drop or get rewarded from quests instead of just straight gil in the first place. All they did was give these people something to work with.

Checked Durandal, and there are some overpriced allagan gold pieces here too. almost all bought by one guy:

I have been selling those pieces for outrageous amounts to people with too much money. i believe some people are at the gil cap and want the pieces to invest in.
think before you go on witch hunts. Last night i made 500k+ on allagan pieces that are face valued at maybe 30k. hell i have allot of them up for sale right now for another 500k+ and will continue to do so until people stop investing in them. I think some people also just like to show off how rich they are by buying them imo.

Yes i decided to come on the forums and admit to buying Gil, because you know im really smart like that... /sarcasm.

This witch hunting has to stop.

Now the smart thing i did was read on the forums about people paying outrageous prices for allagan pieces and decided to get in on it... also i sold my gold piece for 250k and not 500k.
but i am wondering of someone didn't notice that extra 0 on the end, because that truly is a stupid amount of money for the thing.

I'm confirming it for the Midgardsormr server as well just checked Silver pieces and Ez Pay was buying them up. This is something that needs to be passed along to the STF because they are using this method to keep their gil on hand down.

Yea because we all know how accurate SE is with their bans right? i have had a nearly full blacklist since EA and not one of them has Deleted next to their names, the gold bots shout for hours on end in cities, the mining bots i see never get banned, but anyone who has allot of gil from playing the market or crafting ultra rare items gets auto banned. so yes i have complete faith SE will get this right.

I tell you what if you don't believe me, put up some pieces for similar prices on your server and see what happens.

I think you people are missing the point yes it COULD be used as an item to sell for a ridiculous amount because someone bought that much gil, but its not. SE is going after people with 8mil and up of gil on hand I am willing to bet they are NOT checking gil on hand+ value of ITEMS in inventory/retainer/mail. A more accurate reason they are buying these is because its better to over spend on these items and lose the difference than it is to lose the entire account all together. Why should they care if they spend 3mil extra buying up these pieces when losing the account cost them 8mil or more.

The price for silver pieces on my server is 4000 per an up (NPC for 500)
Gold 39500 per an up (NPC for 2500)

no worse than someone putting up the vanya robe of healing for 750,000/ then 3 days later another one for 800,000/ both sold, so yea people are making money, but the people spending the money or buying it, so its a full circle. Buy gold from gill seller pay 750k for robe, make another robe sell it for 800k because I know people buy gill and will pay that, and now you have an exploited market.

No. No you wouldn't. Because if you did, that would mean you were selling to a bot. This makes you complicit, intentionally or otherwise. What? Vanya robe baseline craft cost is around 450,000g on my server (that's JUST the Potash), you're looking at around 500k if you buy up the other mats. You can expect to pay more for an HQ item so 750k-800k is not unreasonable.

Clearly the people that can afford to buy these legitimately are few & far between, but your logic makes no sense at all. It hurts my brain trying to understand what you're getting at.
