Square Enix has the means, they have the money and they have a pool of talented people to draw from in both the US and Canada. It is time to stop apologizing and start acting on the extreme issues with lag and RMT spam.
Hire a larger group of NA/EU support staff, hire more GMs, please have a better response and more frequent updates on glaring issues rather than "Under investigation, please look forward to it." The game has been live for almost a month and we are still fighting with issues from 1.0.
There are many talented and skilled community members who have provided hours if not days of research and feedback on these issues. The only thing keeping some of them from not fixing the issue themselves is not being able to physically TOUCH the servers, switches, routers, fiber lines, etc.
The RMT spam has been out of control since DAY ONE and is getting worse. There is no reason why there should be a spam bot sitting in almost every zone blasting "buy our sh*t" 30 times a minute. A lot of players blacklists are almost full at this point. We have no ACTIVE updates as to the status of stopping it.
DAYS between Dev updates, JP servers being rubbed with a diaper every time a little thing is off and NA/EU (larger market by the way) is basically being SHOWN that they don't matter. A little due dillegence would go a long way.
We have posted, we have yelled, screamed, blogged, waiting, flamed, trolled, tweeted and blasted every method of communication every single day since Phase 1 on most of these issues and Phase 4 on the rest of them.
It is tiring and to have waited so many years for this game to become what so many of us have wanted it to be just to be dumped on every day by @$$hole spammers, outrageous lag, broken story quests, invulnerable spawns, 1017, 90ks, etc.
I know this post won't change anything either but it sure feels better to vent it all out.

It is my understanding that Square is actually quite a lot of money in the hole on this game and will need to run for several years to break even. (That is what I have read.)

I've played 5 different MMO's and 2 of them were free to play. This is RMT/Botting on a scale I've only seen in one of those F2P games. I can't seem to justify F2P RMT/Botting activity with a Subscription game... I've seen bots going untouched for up to 5 business days! You can sometimes see Gil mules at the Delivery Moogles for 3 business days. This is unacceptable in the extreme if you want us to pay a subscription. Dire Mite Webs are going to cost us 2,000 gil a pop sooner or later. I know several Weavers who are currently completely locked because they won't pay the inflated price and the bots have monopolized the spawns. Pay? To be locked up by botters!? That's crazy talk.

Sorry to pee on your righteous indignation,but....as far as the Diremite Webs go, NO ONE needs to have Weaver "blocked". Leves in Quarrymill will provide MULTIPLE webs per turn in. I netted myself over 200 webs (most leves give 10 or more webs) just by spending a few hours grinding these Leves.
Just remember, the Leves rotate their rewards every 30 mins or so, so if they are offering shads, do them for lightning shards or wait till they cycle to the webs as rewards. -

By making it where they can’t even say it. Also when noticing them to permanent ban them, we are working on these thoroughly. Since we’re doing thoroughly, it’s to a point they of harassment. Right now there is a lot going on in America. On the NA forums there is even a thread asking to sell the appearance changing potion with real money which is familiar in F2P. Looking at that kind of thread, I think to myself for RMTs they can’t do any business with increase of F2P MMOs. If world becomes a world where you can buy gold and experience points with real money, there is no way for RMTs to profit from. New big MMO titles using subscription model is FFXIV ARR and TESO so now I understand why they are desperate. Only thing left for us to do is to exterminate them.

In an effort to keep this post relative -- I would clarify that the problem from 1.0 I am referring to has been reported by many users and that is the latency/character location issue in battles. It has always been choppy and as a 1.0 player myself I can also say this was my experience.
I can assure you my rose tinted goggles do not exist. The perception of the NA player base (if I was not clear) is that JP players/servers are preferred simply because developer and administrator access to JP servers is obviously local. So what I am stating is that although SE may be upside down on this game at the moment, the company as a whole has the capability of investing in the NA market to make sure the gap is closed in the future.
Invest in your consumers with time, information and assets and your consumers will invest in you.
And in response to the post above, you of course quote my post in context to fit the needs of your reply. I don't feel the need to shine at all, I just waited a long time to play what I knew would be a great game and the experience is waned by a lack of foresight. -

I do realize the game has been out for one month, I am not harping on that at all. Market analysis, pre-order numbers and the like are a nice way to judge what you are in for. the latency issue is very real, look at the 49 page thread, there were also a bug report about it that's been accepted but nothing has come out of it since.

I am sitting at 125/200 names on my Blacklist. Every single one is an RMT spammer. Every single one is an actual name, not deleted (I prune out any (Deleted) names on a daily basis).
Please do something about this. :-\ I'm afraid to remove the names for fear of suffering through the spam yet again.
