It should be around an avarage increase of 25-30 heal, excluding Embrace.
depending on your Mind and Determination.
K so omnilex next week and Body AF2 in 3 weeks BLEH
I find it very hard to believe that a level 80 -> 90 transition is better than a level 60 -> 90 transition. I personally dislike cowls since you don't need DL cowl to get through Titan HM. If you skip that, then the transition to level 60 to AF2 chest/helm seems like a far bigger upgrade than Relic+1.
If memory serves, Relic+1 is 900 ToMs and the AF2 chest is 825, helm somewhere around 300. Thus, you take an extra week get two level 90's while everyone else will have one level 90 with ilevel 70 gear. Seems like a bad choice to me.
EDIT:
Holy crap, totally wrong numbers - fixed.
Another problem with the omnilex is that it has so much spell speed and no crit.
Raw stats dont compare to the actual magical damage of a +1 relic. 1 stat in magical damage is, if I remember reading right, 7-10 in ones main stat. This means that the +1 will beat the AF1 Chest unless they're wearing Loyalists Bliaud or something. :P
So on paper it does seem like the body will add more healing, but in reality it usually doesn't.
I get so sad reading this. I just don't want to run around with this DL cowl for several more weeks :(
Nope, I just ran the numbers and I disagree. I can get the Argute Gown for 825 ToMs which is a +13 bonus to Mind/Vit along with a nice critical bonus (crit is hugely strong on scholar). That is comparing it to the Strategos Bliaud. I'll sacrifice a fraction of the weapon damage bonus for higher vitality, defense, and crit rate. I can pick up Argute Mortarboard a little more than a week later, which will pickup and exceed the determination gain from Relic+1. It's a total bonus of +11 mind/vit over the DL cowl.
I think Relic+1 makes a lot of sense for many classes, just not for scholars - specifically.
EDIT:
I suppose the drops from coil may make a difference, if it's between DL and AF2. I'll have to review that drop table to make sure I'm not doubling up on drops from turns 1 and 2.
Ugh...I just don't know. It's pretty close either way and it seems like it comes down to what the intermediate options are between DL and AF2.
Wait wait wait, we can do the math on this, we have the technology

With a base set of Omnilex, Strategos Head/Body, Darklight everywhere else and a NQ Astral Ring no materia as the other ring we get:
Argute Body first: 870.12 average heal -> 900.61
Omni+1 first: 870.12 average heal -> 907.44
this is on Physick but you get the same % increase on other strength heals AKA Omni+1 is a 4.29% increase regardless of heal potency
This factors in the additional crit, its like 1.5% more crits btw REALLY negligible.
In terms of raw heal
And you still have to wait 2 weeks to get Argute Mortarboard since Gown+Mortarboard cost more than 1200.
edit: This is for a lala dunesfolk with 30 points in mind since thats the base stats I have easy access to
I'd add in the AF2 helm since it should take less than one week to obtain it, assuming you're going into your third week of capped ToM runs.
I'll re-run that later with those numbers, but thanks for the link.
The + 1 will improve your healing more than any of the Myth token pieces armour. However before spending the tokens be sure to check out the Allagan Grimoir of Healing. If you're going Crit build this is actually better and has equivalent Magic Damage to the +1. So if you're planing on hitting up the high end progression faster you might be better Purchasing the Myth armor as they give you a greater Vitality stat bonus which might just benefit you more instead of getting a book you will trade in eventually anyway.
Helm+Body is 1320, thats 5 weeks starting from 0 and 2 weeks after getting body, 75 left over from week 3, week 4 puts you at 375 and head is 495. Helm+Omni+1 is 1395 also 5 weeks starting from 0 also 2 weeks after Omni+1. Accessories are 375, that might be where you're mistaken.
Which drops from turn5 which no one has beaten yet... yeah
Correct, I had the ToM for the helm/body incorrect - I was thinking of the cost of an accessory. Regardless, due to the weird amount of ToMs I had (didn't get in a full cap week on week 1, then was grinding Garuda) the change should only cost me a couple of days.
While I may sacrifice somewhere in the range of 10-15 healing, I like the idea of having better sustainability both from HP and MP. Higher HP is obvious, but Aetherflow scales with mana so I can cycle a succor a bit more often to maintain team shielding. The key is to loosen the pressure on the WHM. A scholar getting additional +10-15 healing really doesn't amount to much.
