[Feedback] First Month of Endgame Progression / Gameplay Notes

Everyone probably has these thoughts in some way or another, but just wanted to add to the list of feedback given to the team. Overall, the game is fun and I love the direction the game is headed. There are some things that need to be addressed in one way or another , and hopefully we'll hear something soon. Thanks again for making this game possible and playable !

1 - Endgame / Coil Preparation
Add Variety
Grinding AK and CM are not "fun" when done 6-7 hours straight. Possibly re-visit lowbie dungeons and offer Hard Mode difficulty with equivalent AK or CM rewards to add variety? I grinded this weekend Saturday and Sunday all day to get 1320 points twice (for just two pieces) and that soaked up most of the weekend.

2 - Primals / Duty Finder
Queue System
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has this system, but if you leave a group (during an attempt) it will give you a cooldown. Each time you leave, it becomes more severe (15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week+, etc.). This will make people more conscience and will learn to cope with all players from different levels of experience and play style to complete a queue and not just arbitrarily leave.

iLVL / Group Makeup and Balance
I love that there is an ability to queue cross-realm. Great idea, but there's some things that should be added (iLVL addressed) in regards to variety and availability. It's less-than-ideal to queue with a group of 3 Black Mages or all range DPS/caster DPS. Ideally, would like to see one or so of each class to add increased chances for everyone to get equal distribution of loot. Also, fights like Titan which clearly was designed to be a one-tank fight..Duty Finder should be re-tuned to accommodate this fight.

Dealing with disruptive players
Nobody likes people who rudely cause grief to a group. People who intentionally wipe, or have rude manners should receive infractions or disciplinary action in a timely fashion. Possibly a rating system to show that a player is helpful. I have been personally contributing to groups and people thank me for not calling them a noob in-game and just trying to make solutions to problems and progressing for the groups. Possibly like when completing a Dungeon or Duty Finder Primal, have a menu to rate players, and give feedback.

3 - Misc. Menu Function Issues / UX & UI Issues
Fix Search Comments / Search Function / Possibly Add Filters
I find that the search function is a bit difficult to use. If I could somehow search by players who have comments so I can see if they're looking for a certain group-related activity or more advanced filter (Like, searching for a New Player Titan HM group) would greatly help out and reduce spamming /sh or /yell for groups and other people.


That's all I have for now. Things that really bother me as a player and I think would be constructive to the community. Hopefully we can turn this ship around and make people be more polite and conscience and not a bunch of rudely mannered individuals. Thanks again.

Welcome to level 50, enjoy your 50 runs of CM... Oh, so you want myth gear? Doesn't matter how often you play or your teams capability, you still have to wait 17+ weeks for a full set.

Thank you. I have played every grindcore MMO out there just about, but I could see this game appealing to the masses if they added more variety in the grind. I do not mind the gated method they have setup for the gear, because they are still probably trying to figure out how quickly people are progressing. 300 points a week is an ok cap for AK runs, but really if you are doing something like Coil of Bahamut, I think they should be giving bonus points (in addition to cap) per boss kill to make it quicker.

You know, there is The Praetorium which can be speed run as fast as CM. However, 2 dungeons to grind Philosophy Tomes are still not enough.

I just do not believe there should be speed runs for main quest related dungeons. People really dislike when you tell them to skip cutscenes, probably the most crucial option to be able to select on queue should be "Skip Cutscenes"

Praetorium is also much more difficult than CM. You can have a DF group with a couple terrible players and never run into any problems in CM. Ultima Weapon, however, is a non-trivial fight.

Dungeons shouldn't be linked to the main story

my opinion... let people enjoy the story and let me enjoy my endgame / grind for gear

or run Coil, the place where you get ilv90 gear from, get a good group clear it and you could be full ilv90 in a few weeks depending on luck with drops. Mythos are supposed to supplement drops from dung so your always progressing, not be the primary way to get loot.. why dont people understand this on these forums. does everyone really just need the gear handed to them, is this what the MMO community has now become?

I'm not asking for a hand-out, but I certainly don't want to run the same instance 50 times over. Some diversity would be nice as opposed to the redundant farming of a single story dungeon. And who are you to determine what which gear is intended for and what it is not? Having a low cap which allows for only one piece of gear every other week regardless of your performance or time spent working toward it is almost as ridiculous as your claim that I am asking for gear to be handed to me.

Last week I did my 300 myth tomb grind. Then I did Chimera on my relic quest, then they wanted me to do AK again to further complete the relic quest and I was like............ nope. No one wants to grind the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over.

I fully agree their needs to be another way to get myth tomes. Only ak is silly. If you get a good Garuda group it is not that bad, but I can only fight her so many times before I want to claw my eyes out. I try and do or two AK runs a night so I don't have to do them all in a row but it is bad that its the only place for real myth.

Keep in mind you can still get myth tomes from Coil. You get 50 per turn, at least on 1,2,4, and probably(or even more than 50?) 5. That's half the cap right there. That leaves only 4 AK runs for groups that can clear through turn 4.

I like how you just clipped out a minor comment from the thread rather than focus on the main portion (my original post). Sounds to me like you are the troll.

Dungeons like Stone Vigil for levels 41 and above yield tomes of philosophy so why are you saying only two dungeons? This game has alot of content but everyone just focuses on ignoring anything that doesn't yield them something other than the best. (I had to wait almost two hours for a group with Haukke, Brayflox, Qarn, and Cutter selected.

EDIT: What's the deal with people expecting to get the best item very easily? Endgame content wasn't meant to be handed to them on a silver platter just because they put in some time which is why there was the limit on it.

If you're running with a pre-made group Praetorium is probably the better choice, we can full clear it in around 23 mins. I'll agree CM is easier for DF groups, but if you're just farming tomes you shouldn't be using the DF anyway.

My FC can do Prea in around 24 minutes, as opposed to 30~ for CM. There are plenty of speedrun strats, you need to search for them/

People want more than AK to do as an end-game 4 man dungeon. It's not an unreasonable request, I'm currently upto maybe 100 AK runs. If I want to play my level capped monk with friends it's virtually the only option. Wanderer's palace is a "tier" below AK, Coil is a co-ordinated event and Primals are designed so that they're ran once(ideally).


It is absolutely square's fault and more people are cottoning on to this as they spend time at level 50.

I'm confused you can do Praetorium,Castrum,Wanderers and AK for philo. Maybe not efficiently in DF but if all you care about is variety then you have 4 options. Coil and AK both drop Myth, Coil drops ilevel 90 gear. Which at least for WHM and SCH has much better stat distribuition than the AF2.

Are people just trying to beat the game without forming a static party? Because you'll go crazy.

I've slowly made friends on the server, but the fact you have no ability to send /tell while someone is doing an instance is a big hindrance on communication.

However, what happened with me today was that our group was not able to kick the disruptive player due to the lack of "kick" option, and, due to the lack of "vote kick" function as the disruptive player was the group leader. Thus, leading all 3 of us leaving and receive the 15 minutes penalty since that ****er refuse to leave. But then again, even if he had left, we would not be allow to swap in another player as there is a lack of this function as well!!!

Only the first one to leave recieve the penalty.
Also its possible to supply new members as long as you are not playing a primal DF.

To OP, good points although many of them have already been adressed and solutions are on the way.

Today I was in a group doing Titan. All the party members decided not to dodge anything and the group died twice. Healer decided to suicide and go afk on the third run. Nobody chose to leave willingly, or has the balls to do it except me. So now I have the penalty for doing absolutely nothing wrong... I mean, everytime I receive the penalty it happened in unreasonable circumstances.

Therefore, I need to ask: has anyone ever seen there are times where the penalty has fall on the bad people? Because from where I am sitting, I only see the trolls trolling within instances since there is no kick function and let others leave first and he enjoys all the fun from his negative behaviour.

It should be more apparent that tomb purchased gear is supplemental. Most ppl don't know you don't even need to buy Mytho gear because Ilvl 90 drops in coil. But I guess SE is to blame for that because the content that is meant to be between ilvl60 - illvl 90 isn't even in the game yet. So once CT is here, everyone will run that for ilvl70 gear, and no one will be complaining about tomb grinding.

I don't think this is going to help. In primals, I've gotten lots of jerks who want someone to quit but won't quit themselves, so they repeatedly agro the boss and try to wipe the group so someone else quits and gets the penalty. Those people are never going to be the first to leave. And in things like Titan HM, when your group clearly cannot win, it's a waste of time to stick around. There are a lot of groups that just can't win (people having 2.5k HP, not being able to dodge attacks, etc), so this system would really punish people in those situations, which are quite common in Titan HM.

I really hope the daily quests they are adding gives stones as well. Finished gearing my Monk and really want to endgame with BLM but i just cant bring myself to spam CMSR or AK over and over again for Darklight gear...
